This was the 3rd beer I had at the Bistro's Inaugural Hazy IPA festival held on April 14, 2018. Looks like this is essentially the first non special needs review that actually gets into the specifics of the beer itself.
Pours a dullard yellow and orange replete with significant haze turbidity and a 1/4" white head that almost immediately falls apart into some loose bubbled mess. Some light tropical and citrus notes, actually kinda is similar to Stone's Tropical lager, (because that one doesn't really smell like a lager, just some light Mosaic/Amarillo like hop touches).
Taste is slushy, big proportion of flaked oats/wheat I'm guessing. El Dorado seems to do double duty as a bittering and potential dry hop. Gives more variation to the tropical fruit component. Carbonation was too low on this beer. I know brewers want to seem like it has less bitterness, but I don't think lower carb is the best way to push that along.
I like this beer, but I think a heavier carb load would do wonders for the mouth feel and appearance.

Who drank my bottle? Delicious. What a great intro to hazy beers. I took the recommendation from several of my hazy friends and they said " must drink." Great citrusy, musty flavor not over powered by a great hop finish.

Tasted both draught and most recently in 22oz bottles. Hard to fault. From the first look of a hazy, unfiltered look to the excitingly juicy hop forward taste this is a prime example of how to the style right. At less than 7% this is an inatley quaffable tropical, juicy east/west hybrid.

The new style has a new trend. The hazy NE IPA now has the trend of changing up its hops for each batch. Cool. But why review something that changes?

First beer for me from Alameda brewery.
Pours a thick, turbid yellowish-grey. Lots of foam. Aroma doesn't pack as much a punch as id like, but the citrusy and pineapple notes are present. A touch acidic and a little phenolic finish this off. Not a bad beer but the more I pay attention to it the more it's flaws stick out.
