This is the best burger in town, now. Really. It's very yummy, and comes with chips or fries, seasoned with spiced or citric salt. The "barbecue jack" sauce is particularly good. Also, stick fingers (deep fried cheese, with 3 sauces). The burger is very generous, enough to satiate. Also, they have a nice "fish and chips", that can be split by two.

And all the waiters are awesome. There's always good rock music playing, not very loudly. The place is very cozy and small, so it does get loud when it's crowded. They are usually very busy, so if you don't want to wait so much you can order the food to go.

My outstanding experience at Uaimií left me hungry. I had heard Duke 'N' Duke was a great place for a burger and beer, and that was just what I was looking for. One problem; the pub was at capacity! I waited outside, got into a chat with a couple who spoke English, and 30 minutes later, there was space available. With the chat outside, we got to know each other to the point where we decided to sit at the same table. I really wanted to hit CCCP after Duke 'N" Duke, but with my new friends, I realized that could wait for the future. Inside, there's a good buzz around the pub, lots of happy people, and the intimate feel picks you up.

Beer and food is the other aspect which picks you up. An English menu is available to Portuguese, the food limited to pub grub and sandwiches. Guilherme orders the fish and chips, yum. Me and Karen order a BBQ burger, yum. Oddly, whenever Guilherme and Karen would come here, they would stick to drinking the house beer (Duke 'N' Duke Pale Ale) as their alcohol of choice. I have a pint as well and it is a solid beer. Other beers are available too. Sculpin was on-tap, bottled beers including Speakeasy, Coronado, Strong Suffolk, Chimay, Wäls, Falke, Erdinger, and other Ballast Point labels. Later on, I offered to expand the couple's beer horizon with a pour of Sculpin. They did like it, but to my spoiled American palate, the hops had melted and it tasted like a strong pale ale (importation is a headache in Brazil, but I already knew that inconvenient fact).

With a happy plate and an empty glass in front of me, it started raining cats andf dogs outside. With no umbrella, I was fortunate to hitch a ride with Guilherme and Karen to my hostel. What a way to end a good experience!
