"Batch # 7". Bottled 9/1/16; drank 9/2/16 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque yellow/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge white head; thick, frothy lace.
Pineapple, banana & peach notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Banana & peach flavors up front; pineapple & dry grass notes on the finish. No booze heat.
Soft, fruity & dry (but not bitter); a Special Sauce winner. One of the better entries in the series...

Had this in a teku glass.
L: Gold with a touch of orange, cloudy, hazy with a thick white head at first that calms after a little bit.
S: Citrus aromas with a lot of other lighter fruit and flora.
T: Tastes even better than the smell. Bitterness that is offset by the sweet citrus taste.
F: Borderline chewy like the NE style the beer is going after. I don't know if I could ask for much more here.
O: Best hoppy beer I've ever had not from Treehouse or alchemist.

Pours a thick, cloudy, and hazy almost juice like matte golden-orange color. Thick foamy white head dissipates leaving a thin light layer of foam on the top of the beer with plenty of sticky lacing. This beer looks like pineapple juice.
Smell has fragrant fruity aromas of pineapple, peach, guava, with a hint of banana and citrus yeast. Sort of dank tones are also noted with an herbal and floral quality.
Taste follows the nose with fruity notes of pineapple, peach, guava, and orange up front giving way to a citrus rind flavor that has a slight bitterness character to it. Just a great balance between the fruity juicy flavors and the rind-y bitterness.
Feel is smooooooth with a nice heft to the body. Medium carbonation provides a nice initial tingle on the tongue. Unbelievably drinkable. Hides the alcohol extremely well. Semi-dry finish.
Overall this is, in my opinion, the best of the special sauces - and this isn't even my favorite hop. Just an incredibly drinkable and juicy DIPA.

Look: Pale orange, hazy AF, with a finger of head that leaves some gorgeous lacing.
Smell: Dank with a citrus nose.
Taste: Just moved to Chicago from the Northeast and this beer is a godsend. Like a mashup of Treehouse's Julius and Lawson's Sip of Sunshine. A little thinner than a bomb like Heady Topper, but extremely juicy with a powerful Galaxy hop profile. Left my palate very impressed.
Feel: Chewy with a dry finish.
Overall: Fantastic beer, can't wait for Mike to open their tasting room so beers like this become more accessible.

Super juicy, super hazy. Lots of citrus on the nose. White head leaves quickly but leaves a thin standing layer with plenty of lacing. Great mouth feel. Another stellar beer from Mikerphone.

Thanks Thomas for sharing!
Turbid pale yellow orange with a thin layer of frothy foam fading to a broken surface skim after a couple sips. Some minor spotty lacing left behind.
Yeasty aroma, some phenolics blend with light fruity guava, banana esters, and grapefruit pith elements. Similar flavors, white pepper phenolic note comes across as Belgian, with some vague tropical guava and citrus peel bitterness, which lingers in the dry aftertaste. Creamy smooth feel due to all the yeast in suspension. Pretty good, though not especially unique in the scheme of things. Galaxy isn't as distinctive as it could be and competes a bit with the yeasty phenolics.

This is just super solid. Consistent special sauce batches. Just wish it was easier to obtain which it should be once Mike opens up his own place. Really great NE style IPA!

750 ml bottle, no bottled on date present. Bottled earlier this morning and delivered fresh to the local bottle shop. Batch #7 of Special Sauce, brewed using Galaxy hops. Not sure why we list this under Special Sauce B7, when clearly the bottle reads Batch #7, but i digress.
Poured into Mikerphone Brewing stemware.
A - A bright juicy, golden orange nectary looking pour. Two fingers of frothy white head that stays for a minute, leaving good fluffy lacing behind. Appears well carbonated. Looks excellent.
S - Aroma is insanely hugely fruity, juicy, floral, fresh, & nectary. Bursting with fresh juicy tropical fruits - strawberry-banana, pineapple, guava, coconut, & floral alcohol.
T - Taste is the same: fresh, juicy, fruity, nectary, & floral. Light strawberry-banana alcohol fumes present. Very juicy, Tastes like a fruit smoothie in beer form.
M - Feel is extremely smooth, juicy, creamy, crushable. Extremely smackable stuff. Juicy and ridiculously drinkable.
Overall, from what I've discovered over the course of drinking the six differently hopped versions of this same beer, is that they are all relatively the same: extremely fruity, juicy, & nectary, with only very minor differences between them. With that said, they have all been excellent, though so far as we have gone, none has been more distinct or greater than those that have come before. Looking forward to many more. =) P.S. I would also add that having proper glassware makes a big part of this (or any other) beer drinking experience. Best to drink this one from the original Mikerphone Brewing sommelier teku style glass as it accentuates the beautiful juicy fruit / nectary profile of the beer best.

Bottled this morning, and they caught the sunshine in this batch. Pours a glowing turbid pineapple-yellow. Creamy bright white head despite the lower level of carbonation. Distinctive galaxy aroma. Array of well balanced fruits: orange, mango, sugared pink grapefruit, and light blueberry. Great, full hop flavor on the palate with balancing bitterness and a dry finish. Soft carbonation, a more creamy mouthfeel which doesn't go overboard and remains refreshing and drinkable.
I've had a lot of great IPAs recently ( notably Monkish, Trillium, Tree House, and Great Notion) and this bottling stands with them. Very well balanced hazy juice bomb.
