750 ml bottle, Batch 9, bottled today, hours ago, delivered fresh.

Motueka hops.

Poured into Mikerphone Brewing stemware.

A - Hazy juicy nectary pour. Looks like straight up pineapple juice in the glass. Finger of frothy soapy white head that clings, leaving delicate sticky lacing throughout. Looks amazing. 4.5

S - The aroma is bursting: huge juicy fruity hoppy lemony nectary. Some light floral nail polish remover alcohol fumes, but that's part of the beauty of this beer. These Motueka hops are smelling juuuicy though.

T - Taste is the same: this batch is huge, juicy, & fruity. Mouthwatering tropical fruit & hop flavors. 4.5

M - Feel is smooth, juicy, tropical, nectary. Supremely juicy and easy-drinking stuff. Quenching. 4.5

Overall, one of the best versions of Special Sauce in recent memory.

Pours a rather hazy bright sun golden orange with a thin half finger of light foam.

Big juicy and slightly dank tropical notes of pineapple and mango.

Very dank tropical fruit flavors of mango, pineapple, melon, and a hint of citrus.

Medium-bodied, low-medium carbonation, creamy smooth, juicy, dank, but a tad hot.

Overall, another spectacular DIPA from Mikerphone. Each of his beers gets better and better and this was another home run. Don't pass it up.

This beer pours a hazy gold; pretty standard. My first sip of SS #9 was yeasty; banana and maybe a bit of grapefruit. I had no idea what motueka was, except that it came from New Zealand, but as I worked my way towards the sediment at the bottom of the bomber, I began to get a better sense of the hop profile: rotten mango and grapefruit with a strong astringency. Very juicy and delicious, and it got better with time. Phenomenal beer. The guys at Mikerphone really know what they're doing.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 750 ml bottle on November 6, 2017. Citrus and funk aromas and flavors. Not as juicy nor as hoppy as other beers in the series. Smooth finish.
