Ever seen the mini-series Godless? If not, do it. Now. Don’t ready this stupid review. Which is, by the way, for a 16 oz. can of (presumed) hoppy goodness.

The pour is opaque. When I was young, only stouts could claim such a word, now it should be a check box on the label of every IPA (can you watch I Dream of Jeannie through this beer? Y/N). Nose is a mélange of fruit with citrus on top. Zesty.

That One Guitar is like getting a fruit basket stuck in your throat. Citrus, mango, papaya, more fruits than one cares to count. And pith. Sweet, almost honey-like in the mid palate & finishes very, very dry. Just enough bitterness to self-identify as an IPA. Clean enough to drink plenty of on the deck if it ever gets warm again.

Nothing groundbreaking here but a good, solid beer.

16oz can, undated but presumed to be fresh, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a hazy and cloudy orange color, amber hues with a finger of white head that recedes quickly leaving nice patches of soapy lacing. The aroma is pleasant, very tropical, lots of punchy pineapple and orange citrus, a bit of stinky weed, grassy and floral with light pine and plenty of pale grain and sweet yeast. The flavors are good, nicely juicy, tropical fruit puree, lots of valencia orange, mango, acidic pineapple, lightly floral with a nice dankness, earthy and grassy with a soft bed of pale dough, mineral water and sweet yeast. The mouthfeel is good, coating and lively medium body that has a nice crispness and a dry finish.

Verdict: A very nice NEIPA from Mikerphone. Juicy, delicate, bright, refreshing, all the hallmarks of the style with just enough earthy and grassy counterbalance that helps dry the beer out some. The body is excellent as many of these beers can feel so heavy and really stick to your ribs, but this is very easy going.

Pours a cloudy pale golden, lovely ripe fruit smell and a nice lacey head. Really nice, thick mouthfeel, but not a cloying feel. Smooth, hoppy taste, more bitter than a lot of neipa, I like it.

Some points docked for being a little darker and muddier in appearance than comparable beers. Yet, it's a case where the eyes can deceive.

Absolutely sublime neipa. Great elements of sweet citrus: lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit, hazy mosaic hops, tropical fruits: pineapple, papaya, and mango, and light malt base that allows the hops to live a pleasant bitter resin in the finish with the lime and grapefruit especially. Little thin, but highly drinkable and flavorful. Smell clone of taste

Move over lime sherbet, Mikerphone Brewing calls your bluff with a full hand of Mosaic hops, a malty sweet backbone, a fresh herbal bitterness and a juiciness that plays as the trump card.

Like a legendary rock song, That One Guitar pours a turbid golden hue that hinges on light amber. Its matte finish and creamy meringue of a froth comes just ahead of a tangy, succulent and fruity scent of citrus and tropical fruit. With a curious and herbaceous botanical twist, the beer is as cautionary as it is appetizing. Pastry sweet, honey-like and slightly doughy, the taste kicks off with a rich and nearly cereal-like maltiness.

But then the ale gets eager on the hop front as its sweetness slowly relaxes and the Mosaic hops take center stage on the middle palate. A strong sensation of lime, passionfruit and kiwi bring a rich and succulent juiciness on the backs of the residual malt sweetness and starchy body. Other suggestions of orange, pineapple, grapefruit and mango are secondary and help lead the taste toward a late palate of chive, hemp, green tea and sassafras.

Medium bodied but synonymous for the "hazy" style, the beer's impressions of tartness and its fine grassy, herbal and sprucy bitterness has the ale closing with a medium length and smooth bite of botanical gin, tea and tropical fruit peels gently on the after palate.
