Had on tap. Dark copper semi-clear body with a tan ring. Smells of toasted toffee, whiskey, wood, barley, and malt. Taste has more booze to it, and the presence of maple and slight earth can be detected as well, but mostly whiskey and barley, wood fades compared to smell, which left me wanting more of it, still got a lot going on to enjoy. Body starts heavy and thins in a hurry, maybe a little too thin, with decent dryness contrasting the booze. Interesting, but not sure I need to have again.

 

Nice barleywine taste, though I don't get a ton of barrel which is a bit disappointing since that's what's advertised. A bit thin, not necessarily detrimentally so though.
