16oz can. Poured out a very cloudy, hazy, golden orange color with a good-sized, off-white head of foam. It left thick rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of melon, orange, grapefruit and sweet toasted caramel malt. Tropical fruit taste with a punch of melon, toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

A - Hazy orange, milky and pale. Short head, dense white, fading slowly.

S - Strong dank hit of weed hops, with pith and citrus, and tropical notes.

T - The open is pungent hop dankness, with strong tropical fruits, peach highlights, and a moderately bitter pith bite in the close.

M - Moderate weight, some alcohol warmth, and dry finish.

O - Very good NEIPA, tasty and satisfying, and quite drinkable.

tasted at the brewery. actually based a trip to nashville solely on visiting this place. Color hazy golden, Nose and scent of tangerine and citrus, with lots of hops. Feel was nice in the fall afternoon on their deck. Overall another winner for Bearded Iris

I get these great beers from Saveon in Mentor, Ohio, and every week there is one brew that I say, "Oh man, I should have bought more than one." This is that brew. It is six days old. Five when I bought it.

You open the can and out comes a big, stanky hops smell. The pour is all cloudy and yellow. Exceptional.

The taste is big and rude. It hits you with a mountain of hops and malts in a very down to business way. This is a serious hazy double IPA.

Highly recommended. I'd never heard of this brewer, but this is a great introduction.

IPAs aren't my favorite style, but this double is damn good...

What strikes me best on this beer is the look - hazy, a very nice shade of yellow, and all the yeast and trub floating within - a sight to behold. The smell was obligatorily juicy and the mouthfeel was very smooth even though it was well carbonated. As far as double IPAs go, this on is up there in my books...

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass; canned 03/22/21, code MORE TASTE.
A: Pours a nearly opaque, yellow orange color with a one to two finger, pillowy, off-white head, decent retention, and some soapy lacing.
S: The aromas of pineapple, nectarine, paraffin, and pink grapefruit are strongest early, but a caramel core comes through with a cocoa note as it warms.
T: Semisweet. Aromas of pineapple, ripe nectarine, and pink grapefruit blend, but the caramel of the malt comes through nicely. Moderate bitterness for the style.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not obviously boozy, but you feel it later.
O: Picked up a set of beers from Bearded Iris and I have really enjoyed this one. I would order this when I was out and about.

Appearance: Hazy orange. Frothy white head, good retention.

Aroma: Citrus fruit and some floral notes.

Flavor & aftertaste: Hoppy citrus note. Moderate bitterness. Moderately sweet. Alcohol noticeable but not harsh.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Soft. Mild astringency. Long finish with lingering bitterness.

Overall: Looks like a glass of orange juice. Nicely aromatic soft DIPA. Good head retention. Drinks a little heavy. Bitterness is moderate and will linger a bit through the finish. Citra hops makes this one a classic IPA. I like them to drink a little lighter, so as not to feel so full and with a bitterness that fades quickly rather than lingers. Well crafted.

I tried this beer at the brewery. What a find! It poured a hazy golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had tropical fruit peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright tropical fruit presence and a fruit peel spice finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Good Double, but am guessing is much better if fresh. I thought I checked the date before purchase but discovered bad small printing actually had 2 dates and this was old. I am surprised was still good. Will look for fresh version.

Milky tarnished brass with a ribbon of clingy white; big pineapple nose with some herb + ganga; grapefruit zest, burst of lime, cantaloupe + honeydew, peaches, kronik, slight gooseberry, some grass; soft, medium, slight burn.

Jan 27 canning date - just 12 weeks, which is on the edge. For that, there’s still a ton going on here - all the sides of Citra.
Some of them (like the lime) in technicolor, and it shifts from candied to swampy tropical from sip to sip. Never quite gets catty, though there’s still a fusel edge that keeps this from perfection.
NEIPA character is there in esters, low bitterness + body.
All in all, if this is the beer at 3 months old, I shudder to imagine it fresh.

Citra carnival.

When my local place got a small selection of Bearded Iris beers in stock last week, I was unfortunately unable to drop everything and hit them up right then and there. Instead, I hoped against hope that they'd still have some BI (and Equilibrium) stuff in stock when I was next able to visit. A couple days later, I arrived there, saddened to see that the stock of both breweries' beers had seemingly been depleted. Reaching the end of my search for other quality brews, I remembered something: Equilibrium beers are supposed to always be kept cold... the walk-in freezer! So, I made for the back of the store and, yes, I found what I was looking for. Excited, I picked up a can of this beer as well as Hotline, along with several new EQs. Of all of the BI beers they stocked, this was the one I was most excited for. I'm always interested to see how breweries handle Citra as a single-hop, and I feel very vindicated for having trusted BI with this, because... this is awesome!

The pour here is a moderately bright and vibrant orange color that is nevertheless obscured by intense haze. Though it's not really purely-opaque, it's pretty close, and has all the makings of a solid NEIPA upon initial decanting. Big collar of foam that measures three fingers or so, leaving behind excellent lace and good legs? Check, check, and check. Retention is good here, too: about a half-finger of solid suds sticking around staunchly even after ten minutes or so in my glass.

My first inhale of this elixir felt wonderfully-complex and incredibly-saturated. Now THIS is how you handle Citra! This is so aromatic and juicy, I'm just in awe. Maybe one of the best smelling IPAs I can remember having recently, honestly. Huge lychee, pineapple, and mango immediately hits my senses, followed by light notes of tangerine, ripe guava, and grassiness that leans into some superb dank-ish undertones as it accllimates to being in my glass. Wow, just wow. This just jumps out of the glass. So good.

Incredible flavor profile, too. Waves of complex tropical citrus (mango, guava, tangelo) with a solid mid-palate boost from the oats/wheat I'm sure this utilizes heavily. Notes of cattiness and a bit of a grassy hint in the finish, but it does stop short of going all-in with the catty aspect (which I appreciate). Almost Nelson-like, with a white wine-ish element that nevertheless still stays squarely in the citrus and pineapple realm. Not too much bitterness, but I didn't expect them to focus on that. I'd say it's modest but not a huge component, which is coincidentally also how I feel about the ABV. It's not showy but in a sense, it does make itself at least slightly-known, mostly with how well-rounded and integrated the hop flavors are, and there is a tiny bit of heat in the finish. Overall, I love this one. I would drink it much more regularly if I could. Superb!

Pours not so hazy really, seen plenty of Bearded Iris hazier.

Aroma is good nice and fruiy.

Taste is nice and fruit mostly tropical, some light herbal bitterness but fairly mellow. Might be biased but didn't compair to hazy I just had earlier.

Mouhfeel is medium lightly peppy.

Overall not a bad hazy but not world class either even compared to other Bearded Irish IPA's.

16 oz can, dated 1/27/21. Pours murky yellow with a thin white head that quickly goes to a light dusting that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is tropical fruit with a little piney hop and some wheat malt.

The flavor is wheat malt with some fruit and a decent bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a decent NE DIPA.

Flat, pale yellow body; very cloudy; excellent thick and sculpted head, dense and creamy; segmented rings of foam along the glass. Outstanding fresh tropical and citrus fruit aroma; orange and pineapple primarily; banana. Pineapple and white grapefruit flavors; faint, earthy sweetness with some powdered sugar; a bit boozy; light tartness; phenolic bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; citric and some mild astringency; alcohol warmth and dryness present.

Well, now. What we have here is a fairly outstanding hazy double IPA. it has beautiful color and some very fine aroma. The taste ain't shabby and the mouthfeel is sublime.

Can't believe I've not yet rated this beer. I'm very behind.

Absolute Killer All Citra IIPA....could be a little bit softer on the palate and a touch less resin (for this rating my single hop standard is HF Double Citra) otherwise very delicious.

These guys are definitely still the best IPA producer in TN.

Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler on 9-2-20 for $3.99. Canned 7-31-20; consumed 11-16-20. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured a hazy light orange with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is a nice dose of fresh citrus and herbal hops.

Taste is peach forward with a touch of orange and mango over a light but substantial malt base. Finishes with a nice touch of peach pit and rind bitterness; 7/10 on my bitterness scale.

Mouthfeel is very light and super refreshing.

Overall a very good DIPA! These guys rate pretty darn close to Tombstone which is the best brewer of modern IPA's i have been exposed to!

16oz can. Stamped canning date is '09.21.20'.
Murky, straw colored body, really quite bright. Two fingers of eggshell white head upon pouring, and this sticks around as a small, dense bubble cap. Leaves behind some strings of lacing.
Aroma is lemon and berry, with smelly socks.
Taste is lemon, tangerine, melon, and grapefruit juice. No bitterness. Has a touch of dryness at the end.
Soft mouth feel, with a thicker body. Not sticky, but has that dry dankness.
True to type. Most likely a one per session choice.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and seems to have a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some specks of bubbles clinging to the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of lime citrus and gooseberry are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of lime seem to stand out in front of those of the gooseberry. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied, a little slick and somewhat juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This New England IPA is all about the Citra hops and does a good job at combining the aromas and flavors of gooseberry and lime.

This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like tangerine, melon, grapefruit, and pine.

Citra-hopped IPAs are a dime a dozen these days, but this still stands out as being really well done. It's got that classic tangerine and melon sweetness I tend to get from beers with Citra, with a pleasant and soft pine bitterness and slight grapefruit pith.

This is light bodied, with a very good drinkability, and no real booziness.

I don't really drink too much beer from these guys, but I do tend to always enjoy what I try from them.

Hazy amber body with a finger of white foam, light lacing. Fruity alluring nose, it really gets your.... attention: papaya, grapefruit, lime, honeysuckle, mango, nectarine with somewhat dank but mostly piney hops. Taste has some hints of white pepper, pear, and melon rind added to our fruity cornucopia, hops are generally bitter with some dankness and a kiss of resin. Feel is full yet light and hop textured, with decent dryness and crispness, very soft on the palate despite having a large flavor impact. Carbonation is a little high however
