Notes: Focus, focus. This IPA showcases a blurred-edge mouthfeel, multilayered juiciness of Mosaic and Citra, and a chewy, lemon starburst zing courtesy of El Dorado oil. This variant incorporates a double dry-hop of Citra, because why not more Citra?

This beer marks the Tennessee slot, now I have two left before I check off the rest of the states including D.C. The beer is served in a pint glass. The beer is 44 degrees and served in a pint glass. The head of the beer is creamy and airy with fair retention. The head of the beer left zero lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is straw yellow with pale yellow hues. The yeast in the beer creates serious cloudiness. The beer appearance is good. The the lack of head retention is sad.

The aromas in the beer are oranges, yeast, lemons, herbal, floral, crackers, mangos, pineapple and honey like sweetness.

The flavors in the beer are crackers, yeast, oranges, bay leaves, floral esters, pineapple, honey, earthy, pine, and grapefruit.

The mouthfeel of the beer is crisp and astringent.

The body of the beer is medium, high carbonation, and a full finish.

The beer has this huge hop profile for an IPA. Citrus is prevalent first and foremost then follow by traditional hop flavors. Rich earthy malts gives the beer depth. This beer is a solid IPA with big bright hop profile. Balanced beer with great harmony.

Date: From a crowler canned and consumed on 10/18/18.

Appearance: Milky yellow, total haze bomb, zero clarity, with a finger of fizzy white head.

Aroma: Mucho mango up front with the standard Bearded Iris oat stuffed backbone. There is of course other assorted citrus fruits including pineapple and orange. This double dry hopped version also adds a good amount of aermatics to the mix with additional green hop and herbal notes.

Taste: It is much the same as the nose with the sweet fruity and green hops up front before it turns somewhat bitter with oat malts. It has a fairly chewy mouthfeel, there is almost and imperial stout weightiness here. If I had to say anything negative about Bearded Iris, it would be that many of their beers seem like variations on the same base beer and for all I know, they might be. Personal prejudices aside, this is a nice beer, as every one I've had from them has been. I'm just not the biggest fan of oated IPAs, but if you are, then this is a quality beer.

Dull golden and hazy with a medium offwhite head, this brew looks good. Sweet citra nose is big and a solid A, I’m always so tempted by a tropical scent like this. Not bitter but not the best showing of these hop flavors. This is where this brew fails. The flavor just doesn’t live up to the nose, its got the appropriate sweetness but it’s just too muted and almost watery. No off flavors just not juicy. Decent carbonation but I just can’t get past this being too muted. Brewed on 11-12 so maybe I just waited too long at 2 months. Ah well.

Murky hazy yellow with a cream head. Melon, lime, peach, and mango fruited aromas with dry hops. Taste has a very dry complexion to the point it dries out the mouth: melon rind, lime zest, mango, some papaya and pineapple rind with super dry and airy hops. Body is dry, light, bright, airy, but is misses a true hop bitterness to bring it all home or juice up front. Been love BI, but this one is not for me

L - 1.5 finger yellowish fizzy head atop an opaque yellow body.

S - strong tangerine and pineapple, with a hint of herb.

T - follows the nose. Tangerine and pineapple, lemon, melon, earth, wrapped in dankness. Slightly dirty middle, with a touch of hop burn. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body with lower carb.

O - excellent fruit flavors.

Cloudy, vibrant orange with a finger-and-a-half of yellowed head. Decent retention and nice rings of lacing.

Lots of white pepper, orange and mango in the aroma.

Zingy citrus flavors: sweets orange up front and some lemon in the finish. Slight Play-doh mid-palate. Light bitterness lingers in the aftertaste, bouncing back and forth between pill-like and pithy.

Full bodied and slick with zippy carbonation.

Solid NEIPA that doesn’t stand out much from the plethora of other solid NEIPAs available these days.

Canned 12/22/17; drank 1/24/18 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a nice white head; a thick curtain of lace.

Pineapple, orange citrus, lemon, mild cane sugar & faint dry grass notes in the nose.

Soft, medium mouthfeel.

Orange citrus & lemon flavors up front; mild dry grass & faint cane sugar notes on the finish. Fruity, soft with a mild dryness for balance; NE IPA excellence.

Bravo!

Second product, I've tried from Bearded Iris. NE cloudy appearance with decent half inch head with lacing. Aroma is refreshingly citrusy, and sharp. Taste is crisp and juicy, with a nice zing of piney and citrusy bitterness. Malt was a little hard to access but the Oats came through in the feel, very silky and and soft. Very easy to drink, almost tonic-like but still seems hop forward (watch the 6.8%!!!). I could drink this on a regular basis.

Pours a murky golden color, could be the fruit pulp floating, just kidding. Small white head falls pretty quick from an aggression pour not much lace either.

Aroma is pineapple juice, lemon pulp, and some orange thrown in for good measure with a little something thrown in a touch of spice or earthiness?

Taste is like the nose pretty much definite lemon zest going on can see the melon more in the flavor then the nose. Finish is lightly hoppy with that light spice earthy note that I smelled coming out.

Mouthfeel is only medium not as full bodied as it looks carbonation is lightly peppy and seems to aide with lemon zest.

Overall eh not there best IPA but it is a little different if that what your looking for, not bad just wouldn't go to it again.
