Poured from pint can into shaker pint glass.
A: Pours a fairly clear yellow hue with active carbonation jets fueling a 1 inch bubbly white head with decent retention.
S: Mango, orange, soft grapefruit, lemon, and soft pine resin.
T: Soft sweet grapefruit, mango cream, mild pine resin, orange, and a hint of lemon and white grape.
M: Light-medium body. Citrus and tropical fruit sweetness with mild hop bitterness. Effervescent. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: Lovely hop expression. Hits the sweet spot on the ABV. Refreshing with a bit of complexity.

A: Great NE style look: opaque yellow-orange hue with a dense fluffy head on top of it all. Lovely lacing left on the edges after swirling it around.
S: It's weird because this kind of smells like a red ale or some other darker, hoppy ale. There's hops and dankness, and it's very earthy.
T: I'm no hop expert, but to me it seems that either the simcoe or mosaic hops dominate here. It has an earthy taste to it. Pine, malt, and grapefruit show up.
M/F: Consistency is velvety smooth with a good hop bite. Finishes with earthy hops and biscuit.
O: Great beer! This one's not as 'bright' as you'd expect, if that makes any sense. At the same time, the ABV is well-hidden, and it really makes those hops shine.

Appearance: Pours cloudy and apricot nectar colored with a one finger head; decent stickage and lacing
Smell: Tangerine and lime with a hint of grapefruit
Taste: Tangerine and lime forward, with a pithy lemon and grapefruit bitterness developing; moderately bitter, after the swallow and into the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: Not as juicy as the other beers I have tried from this brewery, this is still a quality DIPA
Thanks, WPZY, for the opportunity

Staying the hoppy path, Bearded Iris slathers an imperial IPA with the honorable Simcoe hops and then aromatic Citra varieties before pulling together the taste with Mosaic variety. Pile all that onto a high gravity taste and effects and we have a hop monster in the making.
Chief of Chiefs pours the same turbid goldenrod austere as many other New England-style IPA. Cast with a frothy, dense cap, the beer leads to an absolute juicy tropical, citrus and orchard fruit bouquet. Herbal and grassy, the nose precedes a taste of biscuit, shortcake and caramel-like batter.
As the bitter ale tramples the middle palate, it starts off with the bright and tangy flavor of tangerine, pink grapefruit, lemon and lime. Fold in the tropical medley of pineapple, mango and kiwi- all of the dehydrated yet succulent variety. Just when the fruitiness takes on creamsicle proportions, the grassy and peppery nature of Simcoe hops apply a dank, herbaceous and highly vegetal closure.
Medium bodied, but registering fuller and less dry due to the beer's immense up front creamy texture, but the tannic spice of hop leaf and stem contribute as much spice as it does bitterness as the texture finishes malty dry and dankly grassy.
