Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 10/02/17

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice cloudy pale yellow/orangy color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, peach), pretty nice diesel like, really picking up on the Nelson Sauvin big time. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, mango, peach), really nice diesel like, really picking up on the Nelson Sauvin big time. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very tasty brew and another from BI. Addictive! Orange Julius! Thanks John!

My first offering from Bearded Iris and it wont be my last. Beautiful pour of hazy tangerine with beautiful white lacing. The nose is a bit muted for a DDH Nelson but the taste more than makes up for it. Good God, this is a great tasting Nelson hopped IPA. Mouth feel was soft and smoothe....Well done boys(and girls) .

Canned October 2, 2017. Poured into tulip. Kinda dirty orange, rust colored. Just off white head with some decent lacing. Some citrus, pineapple on the nose. Full of tropical fruits, sweet orange, nicely bitter and resiny finish. Soft mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Crushable DIPA.

At this point you kind of know what you're going to get with most Bearded Iris offerings, so you're rarely disappointed but most of the the sensory takeaways start to repeat themselves. Attention Please and it's DDH derivations are some of my favorite from BI's portfolio, but we're definitely not breaking new ground here.

Pours a copper-orange body that's hazy but not turbid or pulpy, with a nice two-finger white head that fizzles slowly and laces very nicely. Great looking beer both on tap and poured from a month-old can.

Aromas are obviously where the DDH adds some new dimensions, and the Nelson Sauvin certainly adds the expected and wonderful burst of white grape and melon rind. But this beer is dank, herbaceous, and tropical on the nose, first and foremost, with notes of berry, pine, citrus pith, and so, so much damp grass.

Interestingly I get grape, biscuit, and berry on the front end of the sip, before the citrus and stone fruit takes over. Plenty of bitterness (citrus pith and pine resin), but very balanced with a huge dose of bready malt and berry sweetness. There's some greeness there, hard, grassy starch that gives a bit of an oniony, borderline-sourness on the backend. The aftertaste is longer and more bitter than some other BI beers. Again, very green.

Feel is incredible. Velvety and sticky (but not unpleasantly so). Perfectly carbonated. A little chewy with plenty of flavorful film on the teeth and tongue. Just wish that film was a little drier or more citrusy and a little less cat-pea-dank.

The nelson is my favorite hop right now and B.I. nailed it with this one, i wonder if adding some on the hot side would make it the best! delicious beer that I'm glad to have another one of! Cheers.
