Canned 10.16.18, opened 11.10.18
“What’s Bibco?”
Translucent golden yellow, pencil thin off white foam layer, receded quickly on the pour
Aroma is melon, passion fruit, whiff of peach
Taste is melon with a hint of citrus over a malty base
Suds up in the mouth, low bitterness, hop taste lingers slightly and doesn’t bite
Good beer

To every yin, there's a yang. Therefore theres a floral for every earthy. And this is the harmony that the Bearded Iris team applies to their bold and hazy IPA with the irresistible fruitiness of citra hops along with the bitter earthiness of Simcoe for a beer that's balanced and complex.
Rich aromas of citrus abound along with a tangy scent of exotic tropical fruit. Herbal and grassy, a light pungent aroma of hemp radiates from the glass. Off Beat brings an old school aroma with hay, grasses and grapefruit although the ale is hazy with the appearance of whipped buttercream. Its lacy froth invites a taste that bursts on the palate with a pastry sweet honey, poundcake and taffy.
With the sweetness slowly fading, the taste of hops permeate the creaminess of grain with a cleansing taste of citronella, lemon and orange, with a kiss of lime. Sherbet-like in taste, the beer's creamy sweetness is softly gelatin-like before a brisk taste of passionfruit, kiwi and papaya bring a tropical medley that suggests tropical fruit punch. Creamy and milky in texture, the late palate is modestly bitter with a smooth and herbal finish of cannabis and chive.
White grapefruit and a fresh grassiness comes with a smooth bite to close the session while a medium length aftertaste of pulled candy and herb leave lasting memories on a savory IPA that's still quite crisp, clean and refreshing, and with a sprucy gin-like spice to exit the palate.

Appearance: Pours slightly hazy and amber colored with a two fingered head of foam; decent retention and lacing action
Smell: Tropical fruit notes of peaches, pineapple, orange and lemon
Taste: Bready malt forward, with the peach and pineapple developing; through the middle, the citrus starts to build, bringing orange and tarter lemon tones; the finish is nicely balanced with a hint of sweetness
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A really impressive IPA; Bearded Iris does a great job with the style

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 01/22/18
Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice cloudy orangy color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, peach), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, peach), pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Addictive! Orange Juilus! Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks John!

Beer smells great. Fairly hazy, rather flat (could be the bars fault). Also too sweet for the style. It is juicy but needs.some refinement.
