Picked up a 16oz single from TW-Greenville, SC 5-23-22 for $6.49. Canned 3-23-22; consumed 8-5-22. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured tequila sunrise orange with a nice white head.
Nose is very lovely, raspberry and citrus forward.
Taste is a light but substantial malt base overwhelmed with a large dose of raspberries, vanilla, and lactose. Hopping provides needed bitterness but with the large lactose and vanilla additions the ending is an odd bitter/overly sweet for my palate.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and very refreshing.
Overall i have not had anything new from BIB in a long time and given their track record thought i would give this style a try but not my cup of regular WCIPA!

Color is best described as dirty copper. Head was there and then it was gone. Very effervescent. Nose is sweet as is the taste. Nice follow up bitterness and flavors.

The Raspberries play a significant role in this beer as you would imagine. Slightly tart and a little sweet, they give the usual hazy IPA a facelift. I don't know that it's better or worse than the base beer would be without the raspberries but as it is it's fairly tasty. This is a good solid beer that I would definitely recommend folks to try once and see if you like it. It's definitely not something I could drink every day but it is different than the usual hazy IPA and sets itself apart enough to keep it interesting.

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 02/02/18
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice cloudy reddish color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger light pink head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, slight grapefruit, raspberries), slight tart, slight diesel. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, slight grapefruit, raspberries, tangerine), really nice little tartness/diesel like, nice little sweetness. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Again, quite different than other's from BI. Addictive! Raspberry Julius! Thanks John!

Smell: Really reminiscent to a raspberry cheesecake. The Raspberry is forward on the nose, it’s like a puréed raspberry along with that lactose that’s giving off this mascarpone like sweetness. There’s a yeasty note that’s giving off this familiar aroma of pie crust. Underneath all that you get these citrus fruit notes. Orange and lemon predominantly. Also I’m even picking up a little bit of pear. This is sweat and really dessert like on the nose.
Taste: Right away I’m noticing that this beer isn’t quite as rich on the palette, but it’s not to far off. Upfront I’m getting this elegant mascarpone note that mix’s in with this beautiful tangy somewhat tart citrus fruit note. Mostly tart lemon with a touch of tangy orange juice. Middle of the mouth is were I’m really picking up the raspberry. It is a little bit subdued compared to the nose but it is there. The raspberry comes through like it has been puréed. In addition to the raspberry purée you get this full yeasty pie crust note. The raspberry purée and pie crust come together to give the most dessert like expirence I felt throughout tasting. In the finish is where this Double IPA lets it be know that in fact this is a Double IPA. I get those citrus notes I got upfront but it is even more intensified on the backend of the beer. The tart lemon is there along the tangy orange juice, but also there is this nice well integrated note of ruby red grapefruit along with some lemon zest to give this beer a little bit of bitterness to balance out the desert like qualities experienced in the mid palette. In the aftertaste I get this really nice mix of tangy orange and ruby red grapefruit juice.
Feel: Medium to full body. There is a richness and complexity to the beer that gives it a fuller feel. Also the beer has really nice carbonation with a moderate dryness that makes you want to keep drinking it.
Overall: I’m really impressed with this beer. I haven’t had much from Bearded Iris, but in the limited exposure this is the best I’ve had from them!

Just in time for that romantic holiday, the match makers at Bearded Iris Brewing is getting us all in the mood with a tantalizing addition of raspberries to the succulent fruit blend of Mosaic, Citra, & Vic Secret hops in an imperial IPA that's sure to loosen all inhibitions.
Mood Ring pours with a striking turbid mauve austere and crowns with a sturdy ivory lather. Its rich, ripe and racy scent leads with the tropical and citrus hop blend, but the radiant raspberry additions are paramount with a scent of condensed dark fruit. Sweet and succulent, the early palate opens with fructose, fresh dough and a strong suggestion of pulled candy.
Richness stews on the middle palate even as the sweetness gradually fades and the fruit garner command of the tastebuds. A full raspberry taste is juicy and concentrated, seeming cherry-like and plummy from sip to sip. but the brightness of fruit additions subside to allow the passionfruit, pineapple, orange, grapefruit and currant character of hops to pull from the berries and trail into a peppery bitterness of chive and fruit skins.
Medium full on the late palate, the ale's rich fruitiness has the senses reading a heftier taste and feel than is actual. But the crisp and refreshing finish also seems lighter with the raspberry acidity and the hop's piquantly bitter bite that lingers in a medium long afterglow. One thing's for sure, this ain't your girlfriend's fruit beer.

Poured into the Bearded Iris 2 year anniversary TEKU. Pours very solid raspberry red, small head, smells just like juice, taste better now that it has aged. goes down smooth.

I absolutely love this beer.
Not a very large head, a little under carbonated perhaps. Very pinkish hue. Raspberry smoothie.
Very strong citrus/raspberry smell. Tastes as if it will be very sweet, like a fruit cake.
Spot on taste of raspberries, but nowhere near as sweet as expected. Creamy and full bodied. Slight bitterness. You don't taste the alcohol. Dangerous!
This beer is FANTASTIC.

Poured into a snifter. A striking bright pinkish-red color and opaque reminiscent of a raspberry smoothie. Only a small pink head despite a vigorous pour. Bright raspberry aroma along with some citrus and vanilla. The taste was spot on with great raspberry flavor supported by a slight vanilla and citrus background. Full bodied but not cloying. ABV very well hidden. Outstanding.
