Canned 4/11/18; drank 5/13/18 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big tan head; no lace.
Milk chocolate, vanilla & faint graham cracker notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Vanilla & milk chocolate flavors up front; sticky maple syrup notes on the finish. No booze heat.
Overall, a bit "sticky" but this is flavorful & enjoyable. I'd have another.

Thanks goes out to Buck89 for this brew.
16 oz. Can
Canned On: 04/11/18
Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice dark brown color, pretty nice carbonation, with a small creamy tan head, which leaves minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some chocolate/toffee, vanilla, oatmeal. The taste is pretty nice, malty, with some chocolate/toffee notes, big vanilla note, oatmeal, nice sweetness. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Something different from BI. Thanks John!

Can:
It pours a little muddy, but a dark brown. Head isn’t long for the world, but there is a nice carbonation level on my palate.
The beer gives off a mix of coconut and oat, reminiscent of a granola cereal or after diner oatmeal cookies. The lactose is helping the former impression, a chocolatey malt note is pulling me to the other.
Taste is not a surprise, and the particulates that we’re visible in the act to smooth this thicker than normal beer (that’s my story at least). More of a chocolate and a little less coconut than the nose, there’s a very light cola spice going into the end taste.
Definitely a sweet stout, so be prepared for that. It makes this one a zipper, even though it doesn’t stay overly sweet with a little ashy lingering back end.

Jet black with a slim mocha head. Soft and silky but a touch thin. Decadently sweet aromas and flavors. Espresso-heavy on the nose with tons of vanilla. Vanilla extract-heavy on the tongue with tons of milk and dark chocolate. I’ve gone back and forth on whether the pronounced vanilla has a somewhat medicinal quality, but in the end think there’s just an overwhelming amount of it. There’s some roast and dark earth, as well, with a semi-bitter finish. Definitely a slow-sipping pastry stout that was happy to try a small sampling of. But the other dark BI offerings I've had have been far superior.

16 oz can poured into a snifter. Opaque and viscous on the pour. A small tan head formed and quickly settled. The vanilla was there during the pour. A closer sniff brought milk chocolate and more vanilla. Huge vanilla and chocolate taste. I was looking for an chemical or synthetic flavor, but was pleasantly surprised with just natural vanilla - in large quantities. Some lactose sweetness and chocolate to round it out. Heavy and sticky but not cloying. A vanilla bomb, but a well-done vanilla bomb in my book.
