How to level up TRIPLE HOMESTYLE? Wet hop it. This variant of a favorite past birthday treat contains all the outrageous mosaic juicy juice from mosaic cryo, a mosaic DDH, pure resin extract of mosaic + a generous wet hop of fresh frozen citra from our friends at Yakima Chief Hops to ice the cake. It’s gonna coat your mouth in glorious, nectarous, resinous hop gold.

2-week-old can poured into a tulip.
Clear-ish pale gold coloring, moderately opaque but not hazy, with sustained, miniscule particles (not floaties) hovering in the liquid that give it an almost gelatinous look if you really stare hard at it. Definitely makes it look thick and sticky. Good finger of bright white head initially, falling to a thin, West Coast IPA cap. Plenty of carbonation, as a few strong swirls of the glass bring a nice latte foam back into play. Lots of sticky, splotchy lacing down the glass.
Nose is dank and filled with orange fruit, candied citrus and mango, grapefruit rind, dark berries, musky red wine skins, pine resin, caramelized malts, and floral greens. Grassy and clean. BI's familiar house yeast is certainly present. There are elements of a BI hazie, but this one is 90% West Coast on the nose. Absolutely fantastic.
On the tongue, the experience is very similar to the Triple Homestyle poured two anniversaries ago. Heavier berry presence, with familiar Mosaic-centric orange and citrus. Minty, herbal, moderately sweet (think candied and overripe fruit, but a significant dose of malt sweetness), and a tad green. Unfortunately that combination leads to a bit of a medicinal quality, which isn't very appealing. But the strong pine resin -- much stronger than I remember from the non-wet-hopped version of two years go -- is a definitive positive. And the pithy ruby red grapefruit finish is quite nice, even if it can't quite escape the medicinal note.
Silky smooth and a little chewy without being sticky. It's definitely boozie, but not overly hot. (Which adds to the medicinal note.)
Probably a good case study in what too much of a good thing (i.e., too much Mosaic, with wet hopped Citra only adding to the overripe citrus persona) can lead to. But there's still an awful lot to like here if you're in the mood for a piney, dank, moderately sweet, boozie Mosaic bomb.
