Really nice vibe to the place. It is immense, there is a long drive up to the parking lot to a very large building. Everything within is built to display grandeur and leave visitors in awe of the size of their operation. Having a self guided tour available at all hours was nice. The food was quite good and very reasonably priced. Selection is very nice, mix of tap and available bottles. Would have liked the flight samplers to be a little bit larger.

I don’t get the low rating on this place, unless it is backlash because SN isn’t some small artisanal small-batch organic naturally fermented brewhouse that passes the muster of those who want you to think nobody knows more about beer than they do. You know the type. The vibe is outstanding - even folks I know who don’t drink craft beer love it. Dog friendly, if that’s your thing. The food is outstanding, especially the lamb and sirloin offerings. The beer? It’s freakin’ Sierra Nevada. Yes, they are available in every grocery store in the South but that doesn’t mean the beer sucks. Moreover, there are a ton of options you can’t pick up at the local Harris Teeter which are worth sampling. The only downside is the long waits for food but, damn, 60 minutes passes pretty quick with SN on tap, a band playing in the outdoor amphitheater, and after a game of bocce in the garden. Just go - it is amazing.

This place is incredible. Massive, super nice and clean. Huge and I mean huge outdoor area in the back, a concert venue, bean bags inside and a huge 2nd floor deck. Food is incredible, servers friendly and the beer is SOLID. 4 of us went and everyone was blown away by the size and magnitude of this place. Truly a must visit.

What an experience. This place is an absolute complex, a campus.

Just pulling up to the driveway, you know you're in for some damn-near Willy Wonka level shit. A long, winding driveway, sprinkled with snow, (ironically enough, for someone escaping the Winter of NE Ohio), runs along a path and over a stream that is very lovingly preened to give an 'over the hill and through the woods' vibe. As you come out of the woods, the central Sierra Nevada building peaks up into your vision and you are greeted by massive solar panels and a parking lot that goes for days in front of some large water catchments.

The interior of this place is beautiful, and allows for self-guided tours just about anywhere. Half of the place is perfumed by the totally explosive and fragrant hop room, and you can even stand over the bottling and boxing area to see how quickly they can pump out their finished product.

The taproom is absolutely massive and impressive yet again, and starts getting busy at the crack of dawn on a Monday. Really?! They handle it very well, and have quite a large tap list to offer all comers. With how long they've been in the game, you might not be expecting to see any beers you haven't already had, but they do have a few rare and experimental brews to kick around. However, there's nothing like having an American craft standby like a Torpedo or Pale Ale directly from the source!

The kitchen is a full scale, professional operation open to view. The food coming out is phenomenal and deserves its own accolades. I could eat here every day of the week.

Why am I even writing this--you already know this is a destination. If you care at all about the breweries that started our country on this insane craft beer odyssey, you're already trying to find a way to fit this place in on whatever trip you're on.

Been here multiple times including brewery tour.
Knowledgeable and passionate staff.
At least 20 beers on tap in the the Taproom, and lots of locally sourced, eclectic and delicious food items on the menu.
My kids loved the banana pudding!
Nice outdoor area in the back for when the weather is nice.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. It's a craft beer complex, buried in the mountains outside of Asheville, It's one of the biggest, if not the biggest brewery I've ever visited. Hugh restaurant, huge gift shop, awesome inside and out. My only negative was the lack of a proper taproom, I was only here to drink and I felt like I was taking up a table in the restaurant. I would have loved a few more crazy things on tap, but with staples as good as theirs, I get it. I owe so much to their Pale Ale. It was a door opener in to craft beer for me.

Went in October of 2016. Visited three times while we were in the area. The third time we had dinner, seated at one of the kitchen bars and watched food coming together.
There is a lot of money poured into this thing and it really made an impression on me. In addition the food is amazing. My wife and I consider ourselves foodies and this is by far the best food we have had at any brewery (aside from some unique food trucks).
The best thing we discovered by accident- There is a hallway on the second floor that is a self-guided tour. Its only one hallway long, but there are interesting exhibits in many glass cases and multiple windows out to the production floor. For example- a glass case of antique hygrometers, and another with one bottle of every Celebration ever made. Pretty cool. One reason I like this is because I am totally done with guided brewery tours. I don't care what brewery it is, nothings is going to make me say wow for the time involved with these things.
Beer selection is obviously SN-only, but their bench is deep! Everyone can find something.
The crowds can be heavy and getting a beer can be a little wait, but we were pointed upstairs to a bar they just opened. No wait for beer at all, (downstairs... different story). They even had shuffleboard and cornhole upstairs (inside) and you can go to an outside balcony and people watch in the garden below.

Vibe: The place has a fantastic vibe. It feels like a large mountain chalet or ski lodge. Everything about the place is decorated beautifully and focuses on beer and the art of brewing. You can see everything from barrel stave lined walls to old advertisements for homebrewing malt syrup. You just want to stay in that cozy corner of the woods and hang out!

Quality: Everything is high quality here. The staff is nice and respectful, the serving dishes are high quality, and they have the perfect glassware. The beer is great and the whole place just exudes taste.

Service: The staff are fantastic but the tour guides go above and beyond. They are more than just employees talking about the brewery they work at...they are professional tour guides. They present everything very well and are just very professional overall. The staff are great too. A number of times our tour group was in the way of somebody trying to move through an area and they would smile and wave as they walked by or politely excuse their way through the group.

Selection: They have a great selection of beers there. They had all of their commercially available regular beers on tap as well as a pilot batch and some special beers. In the gift shop they had a ton of barrel aged and special beers refrigerated and available for sale. If you go there be sure to check out the gift shop because it has a lot of stuff that I haven't seen for sale in bottle shops. Be ready to pick up some stuff because there's sure to be a beer you haven't seen!

Food: The food is good but it is a bit sparse with selection and it's a bit of a random grab-bag of dishes. For example we were told that grain was given to farmers in exchange for meat sold in the taproom, but the only steak they had was hanger steak. All things considered they have a good enough selection that you will undoubtedly find something to eat.

Get a tour! Even if you have toured a lot of breweries this is a good tour. Even the free tour is fantastic!
