We named this beer to honor the rich tradition of farming in the sixteen counties of Maine. We brew the beer with malted Maine-grown barley, unmalted Maine-grown red wheat, and Maine-grown organic oats.
Sixteen Counties has a bright copper hue with aromas of lemon rind, flowers, and candied grapefruit. The first sip opens with herbal hop notes, wheat cracker, and citrus and ends with a balanced, dry finish.

Bread, pineapple (?), cinnamon (????), just enough bitterness. Actually forget it, I have no idea how to describe what this tastes like, but it's really good.

While not super bitter this beer has a nice bitterness to go with its oat/yeast flavor.
This beer is in my top 3 favorite Allagash beers and is definitely worth a try.

Pours a semi clear yellow with soft, soapy head.
Smell is floral and fruity with some yeastiness as well. Notes of citrus, apricot, white bread and rose water.
Taste is floral and crackery, crisp with a nice bitterness. Notes of citrus, apricot and rye with some yeasty and spicy hints. Very clean and drinkable.
Mouthfeel is medium, smooth and brightly carbonated.
Overall, a very good, very drinkable Belgian pale.

16 oz can that I bought at the brewery
fairly clear bright yellow color, thick foamy white head. quite good head retention, it lasts to the bottom of the glass. peppery herbal and grainy aroma. similar flavor, very earthy, dry finish. thin to medium bodied.

Fresh can from the brewery.
Nice twist on a pale ale, introducing some mild Belgian notes.
Smooth, easy, summer sipper.

To me this feels like an Allagash White with more hop character and alcohol content. I love that it's less bitter than APAs, but still has a lot of that citrus character paired with a nice maltiness and a little clove/pepper in the back

This is really excellent beer. I buy this over saison dupont. Unfortunately it's no longer available in MA. I will have to get some next time I am in ME. The yeast and malt character are excellent. It's a little boozy for me. I guess it's not too much boozier than most saisons. Much more so than my homebrew table beer. This is probably my top commercial saison now that Mystic is gone.
