A 2014 vintage. Bottle # 11:06, 3254. Corked and caged. Purchased at the Allagash Brewery in Portland, ME and brought home in my luggage. Poured into a stemmed tulip.

A complex and wine-like. A great aroma. An excellent quad. 4.25

A – Well carbonated as it made a loud “pop” when I opened the bottle, but no gushing or foaming. Pours a hazy dark amber with a four-finger (Ha!) mousy off-white head. Very nice lacing. 4.0

S – Sweet aromas of molasses, dark fruit/raisin, vinous, some spiciness and a hint of floral. 4.5

T – Vinous, caramel, a bit of sweetness, and a hint of cinnamon spiciness with an herbal bitterness in the finish. 4.25

MF – Medium-bodied with a semi-dry finish (sweeter start with a drier finish). Smooth and warming. 4.5

This beer was delicious, but nothing like a quad to me.. At all.. More
Ike a belgian strong dark ale with lots of green apple and caramel. I would have given higher ratings for style if it was not a quad.

Pours Golden, slightly spicy nose. Sweet Belgian sugar flavor with a smooth sweet finish.
