Style: Tripel

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 11.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
First brewed back in 2004, Curieux was our first foray into barrel aging. To make Curieux, we take our Tripel and let it age in bourbon barrels for seven weeks. Once that time is up, we take the beer out of our cold cellars and blend it back with a portion of fresh Tripel. The resulting rich, golden ale features smooth notes of coconut, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon.

750 ML Bottle, good lacing on the glass, great mouthful, no overwhelming or overpowering in the mouth, taste is somewhat like an English Old Ale, light smells of carmel, cloudy appearance. A great beer with great taste, goes down well with no after taste and will wreck your palate. I'd rate it higher for an English Old Ale than a Tripel.

dang. i shared a bottle of this with my brother in honor of my thirtieth birthday and have only positive praise for it. we paired it with homemade huaraches, and if you've never tried turning ground corn into tortillas, i'll tell you that all it takes is a little bit of water and a fork, and fueling your efforts with sips of curieux isn't a bad way to go either. it packs an amazing wallop without ever being in your face or overbearing, just an enjoyable experience from feather to feather, from sip to sip. sit back and settle your eyes out on that pod of dolphins passing by. it's summertime. enjoy all the moments.
