Notes / Commercial Description:
Little Brett is both hopped and dry hopped with 100% Mosaic hops and is completely fermented in stainless with our house strain of Brettanomyces yeast. Little Brett is a hazy, straw-colored beer featuring an aroma bursting with pineapple and notes of bread crust. Pineapple continues through the flavor with additional notes of fresh cut grass. A mild tartness in the finish is nicely balanced with a pleasant hop-bitterness.

L: Hazy yellow with a big creamy white head. Excellent retention, sheets of lacing.

S: Funky and tart, with a little bit of mildew and sweat, but also a nice depth of tropical fruit. Pineapple, white peach, lemon and passion fruit pop out. Some crackery malt, straw, and white grape as well.

T: Lots of lemon, green apple, white peach and unripe pineapple, light and crisp with a pleasant moderate tartness. The malt backbone is light and crackery with some straw. The taste isn't as funky as the nose, but there is some crab apple astringency and faint barnyard character on the background. Finishes fairly.

F: Pretty light, not quite watery, but close. Very carbonated.

O: A really nice easy-drinking beer that showcases Brettanomyces pretty well. Tasty and refreshing. I just wish it wasn't as pricey so I could buy it more often.

Picked this one up as part of a variety 6-pack at Bine & Vine, landing me 10 percent off overall. First time I had heard of or seen this one and it looked amazing. The description I came across read, “Little Brett is both hopped and dry hopped with 100% Mosaic hops and is completely fermented in stainless with our house strain of Brettanomyces yeast. Little Brett is a hazy, straw-colored beer featuring an aroma bursting with pineapple and notes of bread crust. Pineapple continues through the flavor with additional notes of fresh cut grass. A mild tartness in the finish is nicely balanced with a pleasant hop-bitterness.” I absolutely love Mosaic and I enjoy Brett beers for the most part.

Poured a straw, semi-hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spiderweb lacing. Good spotty retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled sharp pineapple, dry-hopped Mosaic, lemon zest, fresh-cut grass, hints of resin, spoiled pear, sharp pine and stone fruit. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted tart pineapple, lemon, lime, pine, dish soap, fresh-cut grass, dry Mosaic, hay, underripe berries (juniper?), leafy herbal and green grapes. (Taste - 3.75)

Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, tart finish. (Feel - 3.75)

This was very good, but nowhere as good as I hoped it would be. (Overall - 3.75)

Cloudy body that makes it seem even more golden. The head leaves a decent lattice. Pineapple hop nose. Spicy on the backend. Feels lacking in the middle, almost watery. The tartness needs to be turned up. No livliness on the palate.

Poured from 12oz short bottle into Flute glass. Bottled on May 1st 2017. My first Wild Ale so bear with me if I mess this up.

L: Slightly hazy pale yellow, similar to a BW, thin white head has moderate retention.

S: Tart pineapple, and fruit. Some grassy notes that lean more towards hay.

T: Again pineapple yet less tart than I expected, really tastes like actual pineapple! Wow this tastes better than I was expecting!

F: Light, crisp yet on the lighter end. Faint fruity finish.

O: This could realistically be bottled as a Pineapple Ale because of the incredible Pineapple flavors. I dislike Sours (so far) so was wary of this but its pretty good!

12 oz. bottle, bottled 2 months ago.

Pours transparent pale yellow with a centimeter of white head. Visible bubbles. Like sparkling white wine.

Lemon, crackery malt, orange rind, and some light, berry-like sweetness. Drying on the backend, with a lightly bitter white pepper-y finish. The Mosaic is a nice touch.

Light to thin mouthfeel. To be expected at 4.8% but leaves me wanting more.

Overall, an enjoyable session beer. A beginner's wild ale with some tropical pale ale characteristics.
