Coolship PêcheCoolship Pêche
Notes: Coolship Pêche marries the delicate flavor of farm-fresh peaches with our Coolship beer’s signature notes of tart funk, apricot, and oak. It ages in french oak wine barrels for roughly two years. To finish, we add fresh, Maine-grown peaches and let the barrels rest for another five months before the beer is ready for bottles.

375 ml bottle, dated 1/24/19. Cloudy (but clear at short depths) gold with slight head that settles to a film. Smell is very nice, clear fermented fruit with some acidity. Taste is tart moderately sour peach apricot with light oak. Feel is very good, moderate carbonation that lasts pretty well. Overall, this is very good and matches Allagash's other wild Coolship ales.

It looks very tasty with lacing and bubbles staying around. I usually expect there to be more carbonation on these lambics than other beers and you can see it a bit and taste it on your tongue. The smell is wonderful with peach flavors and funk. The taste is sour (not overwhelmingly so) with a dry finish and tons of complexity to savor. This stands up to any of the great Belgian breweries. I'm so excited to see the Coolship series in Chicago finally and will snag more until I'm broke because they're never cheap.

Huge fan of the Coolship series, especially the standard and Red. Also love Farm to Face. Which made me simultaneously excited to give this a try but also perplexed at why it didn’t impress.

Peach is a powerful fruit and its presence alters the funky and leathery taste of Coolship that I love. At the same time it doesn’t give that fruity and tart 1-2 comdo punch to the gums that Farm to Face does so exceptionally well.

Elements of both wihout improving on either.

Bottled 1/24/19; drank 12/4/19 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy orange appearance.

An even pour yielded a small bright white head; minimal lace.

Peach, oak & mild funk notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Tart peach and a dry, carbonated bite on the finish; the nose was more soft & complex but the flavor was a bit blunt.

Not terrible, but Farm To Face was a better execution in my opinion.

Pours a lightly hazy golden. Lots of cheesy funk and stone fruit on the nose. It's funky and dry. There's some nice, as Troy Casey would say, cinnamonic character on the finish. It is tart without the abrasive acidity. The juicy peach character comes on the finish. This isn't the greatest tasting spontaneous beer or fruited spontaneous beer, but there is intrigue and it isn't too acidic.

16oz. corked and caged bottle into Night Shift stemware. Shared by schen9303.

Nose is pure funk. I get notes of hay, stonefruit pit, tart peach flesh, sawdust and plastic. As close to lambic as I've seen from an American brewery. Beer opens tart peach flesh. A touch of bitter skin in the middle with the pit coming at the back. This one breaks down every aspect of the fruit. Some slight ethanol on the second sip with a vinegar tartness towards the finish. Puckering with a tart juiciness in the aftertaste. Intensely tart and real acidic. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down dry and puckering. Lingering aftertaste.

Solid but a touch on the acidic side. Flavor profile is unfortunately a bit one-dimensional also.

Bottle. Love the Coolships! This beer is great. Instead of yamering. I will just say that this beer and this series is right there, swimming nip to nip with Belgian lambics and Gueuzes .
