A companion to backyards, backwoods, and balconies alike. River Trip is a Belgian-style session ale with hop-forward grapefruit and stone fruit notes. It’s brewed in the table beer style with local grains and spiced with coriander for an extra hint of citrus. Dry hopping with Comet and Azacca contributes to the mix of melon and grapefruit notes in the beer’s aroma.

First of all, yes, it's light. It's explicitly marketed as a session beer, so that's how it's supposed to be. With that said it's very good for what it is. A little grapefruit, and mild pepperiness. Very dry.

Pale, cloudy yellow beer with a tall, bright white head of dense foam.
Sweet biscuit malt and lemon pie aroma is inviting and delicious.
The flavor is a let down to say the least. Watery with a light coriander spice, this has very little body or malt depth and is as advertised, crisp and sessionable. Super dry with some grain nuttiness as it warms a bit.
No real body or complexity to speak of and kind of a lack luster surprise from Allagash.
It is what it is - a summer quencher and it succeeds, but does not impress.

Seems more like an APA. Think Sierra Nevada. Which is to say it’s very good. Standard Allagash quality.

16 oz can from Deltaville Market in Deltaville, VA. The ale poured an almost clear light gold color with a white foamy head and lacing. The citrusy aroma is detected quickly. Some yeast was noted as well. The mix of flavors is light and easy to drink. Mostly lemon, orange, and hints of tangerine. The coriander is realized mostly after each swallow. The ale has a medium-light body with average carbonation.

From the pint can, it pours a hazy light amber color with a modest white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets a clean scent of citrus, the mouth gets nice light bitterness, easy to drink with a dry finish.

Pours a hazy gold with a thick white head. It smells of fruit and the coriander is evicent in the smell as it is in the taste. The taste does follow the smell along with a bit of hoppiness. Very drinkable. Overall a good session ale.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, light haze, head is bright white and presents 1 finger thick, head laces the glass sides and thin top remains.
Smell is biscuit, crisp hops with citric and tropical notes, light earth and spice, hint of Belgian yeast phenols
Taste is excellent for the intent - light, flavorful - malt forward, biscuit and crackers, hops next with citric and tropical notes and light earth, Belgian yeast phenols round it out with light spice note.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, light/moderate sweetness, lower bitterness but yeast dryness.
Overall an excellent session beer with malt, hops, and yeast flavor in light, very drinkable ale.
