Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel, this beer is fruity, refreshing and slightly cloudy in appearance.

1/9/14. Poured into Seidel glass. The bottle says to gently rouse the yeast from the bottom before pouring, so I gave it a nice little swirl.

Appearance:Beautiful golden color. Nice thick foamy head. Nice cloudy appearance.

Smell: Exactly the way a Witbier should smell. All of the spices come through in a complex manner.

Taste: Has a nice peachy note to it. Also has a little bit of a spicy kick to it.

Mouthfeel: Feels really nice going down. Nice full feeling, and very crisp.

Overall: Great beer. It's a great replacement for something like a Blue Moon. Will buy again.

DATE TASTED: December 22, 2013... GLASSWARE: Konig-Pilsener weizen...OCCASION: Browns/Jets--a meaningless game? Not for a fan!... APPEARANCE: hazily unfiltered, tawny yellow body exhibits slow, steady carbonation; thin white head settles quickly; some tracings.. AROMA: lively lemon zest, allspice and honey greets the nostrils--more than pleasant, even (especially?) in winter... PALATE: soft as falling snow with a fizz that sounds the same; light and cleansing--highly drinkable; a satisfying, lingering aftertaste...TASTE: slightly malt; damp lemongrass with some intriguing spiciness--pepper and allspice--delicious; yeasty enough to hold attention and round complexity... OVERALL: I liked this so much, I gifted my wife's uncle with some for Christmas--and he agreed that this white is as formidable as we've encountered...

Updating earlier review of bottled beer.
Had on tap at Allagash during tour. Had expected a bit of a ho hum...and was quickly surprised what a good beer this is. After decades of Hoegaarden, Celis, etc etc...I just wasn't looking to be wowed by another Wit. But this was a very well crafted smooth and delicious beer. May be it is just better to have something fresh...and on draft. Any way...really glad I had it here. Better understand why it's 3/4's of their sales too.
