Notes / Commercial Description:
Golden Brett is a dark golden colored beer, brewed with Victory, 2-Row and Red Wheat malt. It was lightly hopped with a blend of Northern Brewer and Simcoe hops. The beer started it's primary fermentation in a stainless tank and finished fermentation in a 800 gallon oak foudre. The finished beer has fruity nose and flavors of citrus, apricot and bread crust. The mild tartness of the beer gives way to a long, clean finish.

10 ounce pour - $6.00 at Leon's Full Service in Decatur, Georgia as part of their Allagash Takeover event.

Appearance: Well-hazed, dark golden, honey-hued body with an inch of hefty albeit not quite dense, white foam.

Smell: By and large, GB smells like brett-infused apple juice. sure, a little bready maltiness and a slight perceived "sweetish" hint, yeah, apples and funk.

Taste: Lightly bready malts, lightly sweet. Modest phenolic mentholyptus hint. As with the nose, there's a clear-cut cider quality here, like a rustic farmhouse cider. Sweaty, musty, with a faint hint of butyric acid. Soft, smooth, near dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Fairly good, quite cidery. Hell, I've had ciders that tasted further from apples than this did!

From 09/27/13 notes. Have had this one several times at different BA fests over the years, always liked it. Had on tap at Beer Authority in NYC, 14 oz pour served in a tulip.

a - Pours a somewhat murky, bright yellow color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of sugar and fruity pebbles, brett, earthy notes, oranges, citrus, floral hops, tropical fruits, and fruity malts. Awesome nose; tons of fruit and brett. I love it.

t - Tastes of toprical fruits, fruity malts, pineapples, sugar, brett, oranges, citrus hops, grapefruit, floral and earthy notes, and some toasted notes. Taste has more brett and orange than the nose and less tropical fruits. Very good, though I like the nose a bit better.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall I like this one a lot; it is sweet and fruity, but there is a lot of brett and tropical notes to it too that are great. Love this one, hoping they continue to make more of it.
