Pours a nice golden yellow clear out of the bottle. A nice white frothy head that leaves lacing in the glass. It smells wonderful with nice aroma of nuts and spices. It tastes great with a nice balance of hops bitterness to the malts. A full mouth with just a nice lingering hops note at the end. Overall a very nice pilsner type beer that will certainly be up in my list of this type of beer. One of the best of the pilsners.

Presentation: 12oz euro style green bottle with no freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Pale yellow with the slightest chill haze, tight bubbly white lace leaves a few rings around the glass.

Smell: Faint lemon in the aroma hinting towards floral.

Taste: Medium bodied with a crisp malty palate, slightly restrained bitterness ... more subtle and flavourful than bitter, yet still helps to balance quite well with a spicy bite. The hops become more evident in the finish as they linger with some residual sweet grain.

Notes: Forget Becks or the similar ... a fine pils to be had any time of the year. A treat for either the veteran micro drinker or a macro drinker. Goes down well yet very tasty at the same time.

A classic golden pilsner with about 1 finger of head that settles quickly with a nice lacing. A distinct aroma of grains with a slight hint of citrus. This is a very good tasting beer for the style. I taste perfectly malted grains. None of the skunk that I normally get with the mass market German or Dutch lagers. Probably the best of the German Pilsners I've tried. I really appreciate the creamy texture which is rare for a pilsner style. This is my new go to Pilsner. I wish that I'd found it sooner.

Appearance - clear straw color with fluffy white head

Smell - grass, wheat, cracker, hint of black pepper

Taste - lemon zest, grassy flavor, wheat, cracker, malt, hint of black pepper

Mouthfeel - crisp, refreshing beer, light end of being medium bodied without being thin, medium carbonation, slightly sweet, hint of bitterness on the end to keep this balanced

Overall - this is an excellent pilsener, the best I've had thus far for consumption at home, I would suggest getting this in a can as this is probably the closest iteration to the true integrity of what this beer is supposed to taste like. Will make this a staple in my fridge

Price Point - $5.99/ 4pk 16.9 oz cans

330 ml bottle into lager glass, best before 7/28/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Awesome robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Large amount of dryness after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky/grainy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is an awesome German pilsner style. All around great robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

I recently tried two highly rated Pilsners, Brooklyn Pilsner and Prima Pils. I thought Brooklyn was the better beer but, unfortunately, I can't seem to find any around here (Buffalo NY). I was offered a taste of the König Pilsner at my local Beer Store, liked it, bought it, love it. I got a 15 pack of 500 ml cans for $15.99. Are you kidding me? Das ist güt, Meir Herr! It looks yellow, with tiny bubbles. I smells like tulips with just a hint of blackberries. It tastes light and yet so heavy...so heavy it's my brother. And finally it feels velvety with silky smoothness and very sleek like pumaskin pjs. There. I am a beer snob.

12oz bottle, dated 19-3-10. Must be a bottling date (I hope)

Pours a pale gold with lots of rising carbonation. Bone-white head which leaves a thin layer of lacing which lasts as it settles.
Grassy, breaded scent with a hint of hops.
Spicy, grassy flavor with breaded malt edge, corn note apparent, herbal yet metallic finish.
Medium body, on the lighter side, easily drinkable.
A prototypical German pilsner. Nothing too outstanding on any level, but the metallic finish is a bit of a turn-off. I realize I may be drinking this past its prime, but am doubtful it has much more to offer when fresh.

A: Clear light golden in color.

S: Soft smell of bready sweet malts.

T: Taste is the star of this beer. The smell carries through in the taste although magnified, bready with an outstanding malts note.

M: Mouthfeel is a tad heavy. Still on the light body, although I'd prefer just a little lower gravity.

O: This is one of the best, perhaps best pils I've ever had. It will certainly become a benchmark for future reference.

Picked this up on a whim.

Poured a beautiful light gold with a finger of frothy sticky white head. Head retention wasn't great but the lacing was cool.

Smells of light malt and floral hop, both are very faint.

Taste is very light. Light hop with light malt, crisp water. Finish has a bit of the sharp hop, and ends with a light spice.

Mouthfeel is very smooth, crisp and clean. Lightbodied and with a balanced carbonation.

Drinkability is good. An amazing pilsner. Price is good, and this can be paired with a large variety of food.

Very clear thin yellow. Low fizz, but a decent looking fluffy little white head. Later, thin strands of lace are still on the glass.

First whiff screams "European light beer skunk". Further sniffings actually catch some light maltiness and even some crisp apple and white pepper.

Sweeter than expected, this has some spine to it for its initial impression. Nota Bud for sure. Dry cereal, honey, and orange peel vie for attention here. More complex and balanced than many Euro pils. Still some skunk in there, but was likely lessened by the 08 date and the dark bottle. Bet it is splendid in Germany on tap.

Far more body than it looks, I'd say it's a shade above light bodied. Nice, soft mouthfeel. No conflict on the way in or down, I could make a nice session out of these. Bet it would be great with some light fish like Tilapia, and with about any mett/brat with kraut out there. Very nice surprise here. I had a crack or two lined up in my head, but got a humbling reminder of the book and its cover lesson.

A: Pours a extremely clear golden/yellow color with a bright white thin head that faded quickly. The carbonation was above moderate per style.

S: light, with some clean herbal hopping, straw and light cereal notes.

T: sweet and spicy from the hops with a quick and clean finish. The grain bill was really nice and crisp with a touch of fresh grainy presence in the finish.

M: smooth mouthful. decent carbonation.

D: Overall a very good clean malt bill highlighting a true to style german pilsner with a very good drinkability factor.

Great pils! One of the best I've had. From a 500 ml. can into a pilsner glass. Poured a nice fluffy and white bubbly head; yellow-gold color, typical for this style. Sticky lace on the glass; a nice cream ring around the edges. Smelled like citrus, light spice, peppery, and some malted barley grains. At first it is a bit sweet on my palate, but it finishes dry, slightly bitter, and peppery. There is a little lemon zest in there as well. It finishes smooth and crisp; balanced and light, yet fulfilling. Overall, this is a great German pils. It is especially great for an end-of-summer brew. Sad to see the transition into fall.

16 oz can. pours a light gold. Small white head that disappears quickly. Nose is grass, sweet malts, a touch of hops, straw. Taste follow the nose. Light mouthfeel. Getting some sweetness, too. Well carbonated. Very easy drinking. $3.99 for a 4 pack of tall boys. Good bargain
