This robust stout is brewed with molasses and aged on cocoa nibs for a bunch of aroma.

From a can, flown back from Dallas. Pours super dark with a tan head. Smells sweet, but that is tempered by a roasty coffee and a little bitter chocolate. Pairs well with a bath and a look.

I can't like this beer enough! It is pitch black like a cloud-covered sky at midnight with a new moon. The malty smell envelopes your nostrils, yet with a hint of something dark and rich. The creamy luxury fills your mouth like bare skin on satin sheets as you take your first swig. The rich flavor engulfs your taste buds as you savor it; even as you anticipate your next sip.

Not made for the timid, Tupps' molasses and cocoa fueled Imperial Stout is their version of a roasty milkshake that's all grown up.
Full Grown Man pour very dark brown and a slight shade off of complete black while building a mocha whipped froth. As a soft and roasty scent drifts about the nose, the aromas are of chocolate, nuttiness, coffee and sweeter toffee suggestions. With its flavors unfolding, a sweeter taste of sorghum, molasses and cola syrups take on a root beer maltiness.
With the sweetness slowly fading, the beer highlights a roastier, toastier tone with impressions of breakfast blend coffee, kona and light chocolate to follow. Light in bitterness, the beer eventually fades to a cola-like finish with pecan and coffee in tow.
Full bodied, creamy and plush, the softer tone of the stout leaves its flavor lackluster. Light on bitterness and shy with the molasses and chocolate additions has the beer tasting and feeling like a full cola character with a tacky mouthfeel with a long and nutty campfire aftertaste.

Appearance: Moderate, dense and persistent tan head sits atop an utterly ebon body, seemingly devoid of highlights, even before a strong light. The finely-beaded lacing leaves irregular rings about the glass wall.
Aroma: Pronounced aroma of molasses, burnt caramel, bitter cocoa, sweet alcohol, modest coffee, anise, a bit of wood, and sweet vinous alcohol.
Taste: Opens with strong notes of roasted malt, with a little char. Soon after, there is notable sweet, vinous alcohol with a very pleasant warming character, brown sugar, bitter cocoa, and cold coffee. Later in the taste, molasses and burnt caramel present, with some plum, as well. Finishes with moderate herbal hops and a distinct note of wood, primarily of oak, and a late wave that is suggestive of bourbon and black licorice.
Mouth feel: Graciously soft and full, with just a bit of carbonation zest to add interest.
Drinkability/notes: A wonderful example of the style, the base beer for several stellar Tupps examples: Full Grown Jack, Full Grown Nick, Full Grown Scalawag, and others. All of this is to say that Full Grown Man, or any of its seasonal variants, is nothing less than superb.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a Duvel tulip. Reviewed on 11/22/2020.

Taste: The flavor is roasted malts, coffee, caramel, and bourbon.
Body/Overall: It has a full body, and it is thick and creamy.

Dark chocolate brown with a wet webby head that swells and slowly dissipates. Eventually settles to just a batch of big individual bubbbles.
Nose is more mineraly and a little vegetal. Waxy and a little sweet.
Molasses is the stout side of things and some rich fudgy chocolate. Still gives me some of the vegetal/waxy thing that I'm getting on the nose too.
Smoothe and rich. 12.1% is dangerously undetectable. An interesting and ultimately enjoyable stout.
