Notes: This robust stout is brewed with molasses and aged on cocoa nibs for a bunch of aroma.

Dark chocolate brown with a wet webby head that swells and slowly dissipates. Eventually settles to just a batch of big individual bubbbles.

Nose is more mineraly and a little vegetal. Waxy and a little sweet.

Molasses is the stout side of things and some rich fudgy chocolate. Still gives me some of the vegetal/waxy thing that I'm getting on the nose too.
Smoothe and rich. 12.1% is dangerously undetectable. An interesting and ultimately enjoyable stout.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a nearly pitch black color with a one finger head of brown colored foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is super strong of a deep roasted malt smell mixed with caramel, toffee, and molasses. Along with these aromas comes a little bit of a coffee smell as well as a bit of cocoa. There is a touch of oak and char rounding it all out, producing a dark and rich aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice roasty malt backbone that has some smoke and char embedded with. Right at the start also comes some of the sweeter tastes with a rather strong showing of brown sugar as well as other sweeter tastes of caramel and toffee. As the taste advances some flavors of dark chocolate and a little bit of a cappuccino flavor develop on the tongue, enhancing the darker flavors nicely. At the end a bit of a bourbon like booziness comes to the tongue and leaves one with a nice dark and robust, warming taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the rich dark and roasty tastes the feel is fantastic and baths the tongue in all the robust flavors.
Overall – A nice rich and warming stout with a great blend of roastiness and sweeter dark sugar tastes. Quite tasty.

Picked this up with a bunch of other beer (mainly barrel-aged stouts) while on a work trip in Frisco, Texas. Tupps seemed to be the best brewery around and I had reviewed one before, giving Juice Pack a 3.81. Also had a few on Untappd, giving Tupps IPA a 3.75, DDH IPA Series 5 a 4.00 and Pale Ale Citra a 3.50. This one was labeled on Untappd as a, “This robust yet drinkable stout is brewed with obscene amounts of dark roasted malts. This full flavored bad boy gives off dark stone fruit and tobacco notes as well as rich, dark caramel and burnt toast. This is a beer to share and will age incredibly well.”

Poured a pitch black color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy tan head. Slow moving bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled dark roasty malts, sticky molasses, dark chocolate milk, toffee, burnt toast, dark fruit, cocoa and burnt coffee. Pretty much the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Taste was much smoother and more balanced than the nose. Got dark roasty malts, sticky molasses, toffee, burnt toast, anise, dark fruit, cocoa and dark chocolate milk. (Taste - 4.25)

Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Really liked this a lot. It grew on me as it warmed. Just an excellent RIS. (Overall - 4.25)

Black like 'Texas Tea'. Head is tan and quickly goes away. Nose is has hints of charred wood, chocolate and coffee. Taste all the nose hinted at with a nutty finish. Great Stout!

Jet black pour, dark tan head. Gorgeous beer. Aromas are heavy stone fruit, and cocoa, some char.

The taste is cocoa-centric, with a smidge of char, some stone fruit - and then the booze, which isn't surprising, given the 11.2% ABV punch. A joy to drink.

So a lot of people told me this would be great. Its pretty good, but leaves a lot to be desired. Overall its just kind of boring and thin. The flavor profile is ok, but nothing really stand out to me, bit of raisin and roast. Bourbon is pretty minimal. Body is like a brown ale. This ranks poorly among BA stouts
