Bottled 6.7.17
500 ml bottle poured into a pilsner glass.

The pale straw colored body is topped with two fingers of white sticky foam that is dense in the middle but sudsy on the sides, after a while it lays down to a quarter inch cap that continues to regenerate as this beer has some life to it. It is however really cloudy for a German pils looking more like a Hefeweizen or Wit.

The nose is strong, I'm getting yeast and lemony citrus while I pour. Closer inspection reveals light banana and wheat as well. I at first had the impression of more complexity to the nose but really can't call out more than the notes already listed. That however isn't a negative, it is very nice. The taste matches the nose with the addition of a grassy flavor to the Hop character and a touch of malty sweetness. It finishes with a good lemon/ citrus hop bitterness that lingers and builds a bitter aftertaste. Body is to style, on the low end of medium with a nice weight as it sits on my tongue, not quite frothy but smooth. The carbonation is medium as well but is kind of incognito as it seems that it's finishing bite is hidden by the bitterness.

I don't have too much bad to say about this one other than the clarity and that it doesn't really WOW me.
That being said It is solid, enjoyable and one that I would recommend, especially since I'm not a big pilsener fan and really like this.

Pours a cloudy mix of straw and lemonade, sitting on top is a perfectly white head, bubbly, initial collapse leads to nice lacing that dissipates as its drank down.

Nose is instantly herbal in nature, some light yellow citrus, there some water cracker quality to the malt.

The taste is more pale malt focused than the nose implied, water cracker again comes to mind, it’s like and snappy; herbal veers towards earthy and slightly resiny hops; the citrus noted is there but more as a light pop on the finish.

Body is light-medium; it has some thickness to it and some lingering pale malt on the tongue, moderate bitterness but tamed by the residual malt on the tongue as well as a chewy hop feel.

16 oz can split with a friend, poured into a red wine glass. I'm not a big fan of dry-hopped pilsners, but this one actually smelled pretty good. Unfortunately it was also quite oxidized, which ruined it for more than a few quick sips.

16oz can dated 01/11/23 poured into a pilsner glass shows a cloudy, pastel yellow body and boasts a firm, lasting, fluffy, 3+" head of tight, white bubbles and leaves clumps of lacing from top to bottom.

Grassy aromas dominate backed by a crackery note and the flavors match.

Medium feel with active carbonation clears the palate with a drying sensation.

Overall a fine example of the style and would work with any food.
Thanks, Craig.

16 oz. can dated 7/13. Less than a month old.

Hops: Spalter Select

Super pale, straw color with lots of foam. A great looking, smelling and tasting pilsner. It's basically a german pilsner with a new hop varietal. One of the best pilsners available in the DC region.

Pours a hazy golden hue. No question that this is unfiltered. Smells like freshly made biscuits , white grape, and lemon. The aromatics on this are insane. The noble hop character on this are extremely pronounced in the best way but it still has a nice crackery background. The hops are expressed so well in a soft drinkable way. Sunnyside continues to be my favorite beer from Ocelot.

About what you would expect - some mild, grassy European hops with a traditional German malt base. Maybe a tad bitter for the style but otherwise servicable

16oz can from Hair Of The DoG Bottle Shop (Williamsburg, VA). 3.99. Canned 4/25/18. Served in a Three Taverns pilsner glass. Enjoyed 6/21/18.

Pours a clear pale gold with about three fingers of white head. The bubbles recede to a consistent foamy layer and thick band, leaving a good bit of lace behind.

Muted nose with aromas of cereal, bread some vague herbal/ grassy notes and a little spice.

Tastes bready and slightly bitter with grass, cereal, corn and a bit of spice.

Crisp, light body with plenty of fizzy carbonation. Mildly bitter aftertaste with lingering hints of bread and grass.

I haven’t had much from Ocelot. Sunnyside Dwelle is a straightforward, easy drinking pilsner.
