12 oz pour at a local bar.

Hazy golden appearance with nice lacing. Aroma has notes of apple juice and passionfruit . Decent amount of heat, but pretty nice to drink. Soft.

Overall, a great beer. World class? Almost.

Poured an orange body with large head and a bit of lace going down the glass. Dirty, earthy, bitter hoppy aroma with some sweetness sticking out (akin to grapefruit). Taste is same as it's a dry, hopped up beer but doesn't go overboard thanks to a bit of fruit sweetness mixed in there. Crisp, clean finish and it's quite enjoyable.

Really strong passion fruit notes, especially in the nose. Grapefeuit and some pine in the finish. Medium to drying and medium carb. Seek this beer out.

Full pour and a subsequent growler fill. This hazy, golden IIPA has a fluffy, white head with solid retention. Taste was fantastic, with enough tropical/citrus notes from the Mosaic hop to go with the dry base. A slightly resinous finish lingers. 8.6% is well hidden. I see the light.

On tap at Brookland Pint. Kegged 12/21.

Almost 100% Mosaic Double IPA (8.6%) with some CTZ for bittering.

Appearance: Pours a hop hazed orange with golden hints. Incredible head retention and lacing. About as good as an unfiltered DIPA can look.

Aroma: The nose is unapologetically Mosaic. Smells like reading the Hopunion description: big, juicy, and bright with an almost sweet sense of tropical fruit, grapefruit, tangerine, passion fruit, dark berry, resin, earth/pine. Malt structure holds everything up with a pale sweetness but never tries to step outside of the shadows

Taste: Incredibly juicy. Evokes thoughts of fruit juice and fruit salad without being overly sweet. Opens with bright tangerine, tropical fruit, and berry. Hints of pine and resin toward the finish. Bitterness is fairly subdued for everything going on. Big and intense flavors, but not a palate wrecker. Maybe the slightest hint of onion, but being that this is Mosaic, that is kept in check quite well.

Feel: Drinks like 7% instead of 8.6. In this case, that works very well. Just enough body to bring all of those big hop flavors to the top and let them shine. Medium carbonation with a light to medium mouthfeel for the style. Juicy mid-palate but nice and dry on the finish with a bit of lingering fruit and resin.

Overall: Until now, Ocelot had made several top-level IPAs (Home, Two Lost Souls, Watch Me Disappear, Elaborate Plans) and only one top level DIPA (Fading Beauty). Now make that two top-level DIPAs. This rivals DC Brau Solar Abyss for my favorite DMV Double IPA.

Growler purchased 9/28/16 and poured into Belgian ale glass.

L: Golden/amber with 2F head. Good retention with lacing, cap, and ring.

S: Citrus, tropical, floral, and pine, all brought to you by the good Mosaic hop. Mosac: when you want beer to smell and taste good.

T: Mango, berry, floral, lemon, and a light malt backbone. Piney finish, but clean with little dankness. All works very nicely.

F: Light to medium and carbonation. Good construction and balance.

O: Excellent DIPA.

Nice DIPA. Starts off lighter and then hits with a very bitter finish.

Quite impressive fresh at brewery. A slightly mishandled growler, if it mimics age, shows a bit of heat/light onion notes creeping in.
