22 oz into Falstaff goblet.

A: Nice golden color with the slightest haziness. Head thats 1 finger completely disappears . No lacing.

S&T: Believe it or not this smells and kind of tastes like Purple Passion. The nasty shit I used to drink in Jr. High that came in plastic 2 liter bottles. This is a weird malt beer. I don't really recommend it. Tastes kinda like chewing grape Bubble Yum whilst drinking Coor's light dudes.

M: Actually the high point of this beverage. Light to medium body with medium to big carbonation.

D: Now this beer isn't terrible just strange. Almost a liquorice beer. Grape-flavored water beer dudes.

Best by 11/19/16; poured from clear bottle into pint glass.

Bright golden in color, crystal clear with a fluffy white head with great retention. Good carbonation. Dull aroma of malted grains and a slight corny adjunct note. Flavor is lightly toasted grain subdued by an awkward adjunct flavor (rice/corn) and a bit of diacetyl. Not a very clean not dry finish and the alcohol is slightly noticible. Not a very good lager. Basically a Russian MGD. Not very offensive but not something you crave everyday. Worst Baltika beer I've had so far (have yet to try #8, #2)

Appearance - This is a nice, straw-colored yellow in color with a wonderful head that was pure white and showed above-average retention.

Smell - The singular grain has a nice crispness to it although this is not a high-quality nose.

Taste - This beer falls to pieces at the taste. The grain is stale, almost rotten, with some cheap sugar at the finish.

Mouthfeel - This light-bodied lager had some nice carbonation and a touch of leafy bitterness.

Sinkability - I couldn't get past that rotten grain flavor to save my life. This was the hardest of the series for me to find and unfortunately the most disappointing.

PS: This beer was all over the place. I think this is only the second time in almost 2,000 reviews that I have five scores in which no two are the same.

16.9 oz clear glass bottle with a freshness date on the back of the label.

A- Crystal clear yellowish golden color, really thin lacing ... head retention lacks as well.

S- Cooked vegetables, bland dry malt aroma ... watered down grape cool-aid-like smell from some sort of malt husk.

T&M- Grape Nuts cereal, watery malt ... wet palate with a solid crispness. Plain hop bitterness with no real flavor to be found. Corn grits and cooked veggies ... finishes semi-dry.

D- Nothing horrible, but nothing good about it either other than it is a cheap lager with no flaws that offend my palate.

The beer pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is pilsener malt with some grassy hops. The flavor is that of a basic lager. I get some pilsener malt, some wheat, lemons and grassy hops. This tastes like a very lightly hopped pilsener. Creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a 16.9 oz clear bottle into a snifter.

A: a rather ordinary looking lager: Golden color; clear; largish, white soapy head. The head was surprisingly durable and capable of coating most of the glass with lacing on the way down.

Aroma: light malt and hops with hints of hay and white bread.

T: slightly sweet and floral, with low but balanced levels of hops and malt. Some corn and butter here too.

M: light and rather watery body; carbonation is good; smooth.

Overall: Despite clear glass, this sample showed no skunkiness or others signs of deterioration. It was quite drinkable but lacking in character, richness and complexity ... I.e., nothing to support a recommendation or lead me to buy it again.

Gold?...almost. It's paler than that, though brilliantly clear. Never judge a beer by its color, I suppose. This one, though, doesn't establish much of a head. Clean white, it's barely able to cap at half a finger before it dies away to a wispy foam. At least that remains, though, and even drops a little spotting on the way down.
The aroma's a bit too vegetal coming off a lightly grassy note, and pale malts aren't offering too much here. There's a fruity sweetness and something dry and husky as well. I know basically what to expect from this style, though it is a catch-all. This aroma, at least, is lacking something. It's average if not for the overly vegetal note.
The flavor drops a bit of the husk and vegetation and even gives a touch of noble hops spiciness. That's a pleasant surprise. Malts are still light and it's not exciting, but it's an improvement over the nose and just above average in an admittedly weak style.
The feel isn't bad. I expect a light body, and these beers tend sometimes to have an odd slickness, which this beer avoids. It's a bit crisp and even has a mild smoothness to it.

Part of the Baltika gift set. Poured into the branded glass it comes with.

Effervescent straw gold and capped by a fluffy white head. Head is well retained and leaves behind a decent lace as it dissipates. Weak cereal and sweet grain aroma. This beers defining characteristic is a corn syrup sweetness. Because it actually is brewed with corn syrup. It says so on the ingredients list. Cloying. Tastes like sweet bread with hints of lemon and bittering hops. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Feels a bit thin, but not watery. Off-flavours make this one a bit of a chore to drink.

Situation: New Year's Day watching PSU vs. LSU...
Glassware: Baltika glass...
Appearance: White head that laces and rims well; "golden" body is golden indeed with constant effervescence, much like the 7...
Aroma: crisp haylike malts, as expected--but the malty, almost malt liquor scents provide expectations of a heavier body...
Palate: medium-bodied, with minimal stopover on the tongue; again, the body of a malt liquor...
Taste: malty, malty, malty lager--thick and syrupy, with the honey notes predominant...
Overall: Much like the 7, but not as strong--a palate cleanser or a barbecue companion, but no need to purchase another now that I have a glass...

This one looks beautiful in the bottle and pours out a rich golden color with a somewhat fleeting pure white head. The high praise ends with the first sip. This is basic Euro Pale Lager. If I hadn't had known I would have said I was drinking a Heineken since it shares its flavor profile.

LCBO same gift pack as the #7. A typical Euro pale. A little cheesy arom. A light yellow colour with a big soapy head. A bit thin mouthfeel. Malt sugary taste, drinkable but a whole beer is not pleasurable. Still better than your macro brew, but not by much.

Picked up a 500ml can from Euromart in Astoria. It smells of pale malts with a hint of honey and adjunct. The flavor is similarly sweet with an odd vegetal spice to it. Honestly, this beer reminds me of malt liquor more than anything. I'd avoid this one. Stick to the Baltika porter.

Poured from a 16 oz bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, Georgia. The appearance is a light yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is grain driven and slightly skunky. The taste is grain with some light bitterness at the end.

Not much to say about this one, because I’ve had so many standard lagers during my visit to Russia, each one as bland as the one before. This is pretty nice, but it’s pretty standard to-style stuff. Decenet pale straw color, light head, but the taste just says "I've been down this road before."
