Not bad. Not a typical double IPA, but it was what I was in the mood for on a 70 degree damp cloudy day. Malt come through first, with thick resiny hops on the back that shine through more as the beer warms. No alcohol burn but boozy taste comes through quite a bit, although hop bitterness does okay at masking it to a degree. Not ground-breaking nor is it typical of the style, but it's pretty tasty and that's what matters.

Pours a light copper color with almost a finger of head. The nose is more malty than hoppy. The malt is comparably assertive in the flavor profile as well. By contrast, the hop profile is weak even if this was a single IPA.

I would guess that this was a decent Pale Ale if I were asked to designate the style blind.

On tap at the brewery.

Golden color, mostly clear, with a small foamy head. Grainy aroma, oily hops. Mostly a malt bomb flavor-wise, but again, some oily/resinous hops in there. Drinkable, but not really what I'm looking for in the style.
