Notes: This haze is pillowy-soft from oats and wheat in the grainbill, while sun-showers of hoppiness shine down through the clouds. Mosaic and Idaho 7 hops burst bright with the citrusy pith flavors reminiscent of tropical passion fruit and freshly peeled grapefruit. Keep your head in the clouds!

Can dated 12/15/20 into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold-amber with a coarse off-white head. Initial impression is orange, grapefruit, mango, and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly soft and pillow-y. Finish is initially sweet but quickly fades to a dank bitterness. Overall, this is not what I'd regard as true to the NEIPA style - it's too bitter, not particularly flavorful, and the mouthfeel is almost dry instead of juicy. Maybe the age of this can (4.5 months) has some effect, but even fresh I doubt this would be one I'd visit again.

On tap, served in a Shaker pint glass.

L---Hazy, burnt orange color. Nice enough head, but no retention or lacing.

S---Sweet & fruity. Grapefruit, mango, orange. Full of citrus & tropical notes.

T---Follows the nose pretty precisely. Lots of citrus & tropical fruits.

F---Not much carbonation. Medium mouthfeel.

O---A solid NEIPA from a brewery I was unfamiliar with. I will keep an eye out for Levante in the future.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $4.49. Canned on 9/10/2020, so this is just over 7 1/2 weeks old.

Look: Very hazy, barely translucent medium orange color. One-finger off-white head upon pour that reduced to a thin compact-bubble layer with nice lacing. Lots of tiny bubbles rising in the glass.

Smell: A nice nose with a mixture of citrus and tropical aromas and some green notes. Up front, lots of mango and orange zest. Other flavors are not as well defined: could be apricot/peach fuzz, passion fruit, papaya, and melon. Back end of the nose, has some green grassy notes, spicy notes, and faint green bell pepper.

Taste: Up front, sweetness and a bit of juicy tanginess from the citrus and stone fruit flavors. Lots of mango, peach, and orange flavors. The sweetness and juiciness quickly transition to bitterness that is very pithy, spicy, herbal green, and lingering. I like bitterness, but to me the bitterness is just too much and it's not pleasant the way it is coming forth here.

Feel: Nice soft mouthfeel.

Overall: To me, something is missing here. There are elements that are expected to be present that are there; but there are other elements that are expected to be present that are not there. To me, this beer is not a balanced NEIPA. It has sweetness and juiciness up front and it has greenness and bitterness on the finish. But to me those elements are not balanced and the mid-palate is lacking. Maybe it's the way that the Idaho 7 is coming across? I definitely like Mosaic hops but I am not as familiar with Idaho 7. It's sad to say but it's not a given that a 2 month old NEIPA will be experienced as the brewer intended when it was canned! I will gladly try other offerings from local brewer Levante when they become available to me.

Through dumb luck and poor management, or some such, as are the hallmarks of The CANQuest (tm), I have a small brewery horizontal from Levante BC to run through. It would include a few of their ReVibe seltzers, but they are sadly not recognized on this site. 8=(

From the CAN: "Cloudy & Cumbersome N. E. Style IPA"; "Hops: Mosaic, Idaho 7".

I was eager to Crack! open the vent, but first, I CANducted some in-CAN agitation since it was billed as a N. E. Style IPA & clarity was not a CANsideration. Once opened, I went with a steady, free-flowing C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of two-plus fingers of foamy, fizzy, rocky, eggshell-white head with modest retention, quickly falling away to wisps. Color was a faintly hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was very much of tropical fruits with some peach thrown in for good measure. Mouthfeel was medium with a softness on the tongue. The taste remained mostly tropical fruity with a light grapefruit citrusiness as its CANterbalance. Finish was semi-dry and pleasantly refreshing. I was underwhelmed by the whole experience. I like this brewery, but this beer just was not doing it for me. YMMV.

Canned on 6-8-20.

A - Extremely hazy and borderline opaque. Dark orange in color with creamy white lacing and little to no carbonation.

S - Fruity, floral, pungent citrus, mango, and stone fruit on the nose.

T - Juicy floral, tropical fruit, juicy grapefruit, light peppery spice grapefruit rind, juicy pine, and finishes fruity and balanced.

M - Finishes a little dry on the back of the tongue while the rest of the mouth waters.

O - I really dig this IPA...nice job Levante!

Nice pour with some cloudiness and nice cling. Redolent of tropics fruit in the nose particularly pineapple and mango. That follows suit on the palate with a pleasant resiny tang. Nice aftertaste.

Poured into a snifter. A hazy golden yellow color with a medium white head. Nice staying power and lacing in the glass. Aroma was fruity and tropical. Taste followed. Mango, berries, tangerine. Faint crackery malt backbone. Medium bodied and carbonated. Overall a tasty NEIPA that represents the style well.

Tall can from the source, dated 7-16-19

Fully hazed pour, leaving moderate amounts of froth and low spotty lacing

Nose of soft and mild tropical fruits with mango coming to mind

Tasty and well crafted brew, more tropical notes, some tea and general NEIPA fruity goodness....notes of mango, kiwi and rice melon all in the mix...well worth a try.

I got a free shipping code for Levante's new can shipping service for PA residents. So I ordered this one, Tickle Parts and Anthropogenic. Tried this one first. Meh. It's not a bad beer by any means - looks decent, smell is OK but not the fruity hop punch I expect from an NEIPA, and the taste is not what I've come to expect from the style either. Not much intensity at all, frankly. It's OK, but there are a lot better beers in this style that are easily obtainable.

Canned on 11-1-18 (a canning date.. always a plus)
Based on a 1 beer review. My 1st venture into Levante, and I'm quite pleased. Pours fairly hazy, smells of light citrus and a bit floral. Fruits were wispy and mild. Taste was pretty much the same, but varying.. as it morphed during temp changes. I found nothing harsh, nothing overwhelming. MF was smooth, with a good bit of bitterness on the backend.. but hey, it's only 5.9%. The hops were quite tasty, and I'm really starting to dig Idaho 7.

Nice hazy look with slight head from tap. Not getting a lot from the nose , citric hops mostly. This is a bit watered down on the flavor. It’s decent , grapefruit and slight pepper highlights, maybe needs a bit more malt to add a bit more sweetness and body(my drinkers opinion).

Had on tap at the brewery. Crushable but not terribly interesting or complex. Very hazy, lots of nutty oats in the mouth. Looks great and drinks easy but kind of fades from memory after one glass.

Poured from a tap at home into my Teku glass. Keg is dated first week of November, so this beer is 3 weeks old.

A: A super hazy and cloudy medium golden color with a nice one finger white head. It looks creamy but not super thick. Full glass lacing.

S: Great hoppy citrus nose. Massive citrus and tropical fruits with orange, tangerine, lime, mango, pineapple and some dank weed mixed in. Great nose.

T: The hops are terrific here. Lots of citrus and tropical fruits with orange and tangerine, pineapple, mango, some lemon and lime. The fruits mix with some bready and biscuit malt along with the oats to smooth things out. Creamy. Towards the back I get some dank weed flavors and some prickly bitterness. Finish is bone dry. This is good!

F: Creamy at first, but it turns a bit prickly and bitter. No alcohol whatsover and its ever so drinkable with al lighter mouthfeel and lower abv.

O: This is a really, really great beer. Had I guessed, I would have said it was a pale ale as it is on the lighter side for an IPA, but you cannot deny the flavor that come out of it. They call it a NE style IPA and I can see how it is similar to up there, but it's not as full and creamy as others. No worries, though, this is a terrific beer and one that is so uber crushable. I love the look too, the name fits it well. Well done Levante, this should be your everyday IPA it will appeal to such a large audience.
