I invite ANY one to come have Oak Barrel Stout at Ramshead Roadhouse on Rt 178 in Crownsville MD - ON TAP. You will be blown away by the HUGE amazingly beautiful head of foam that dissipates SLOWLY into the very dark brown and thick body, The smell of this beer is so sweet and inviting that you won't be able to contain yourself in exclaiming how incredible this beer is. And I GUARANTEE ANY one that this beer - on tap - WILL BE one of your favorites that you'll demand whenever it's available to you. Prove me wrong!

The oak barrel adds a bit of a charred & oaky flavor say goes well with a pretty good stout. The stout itself does not produce a huge head so somewhat between a standard stout & a porter.

From an undated 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours black with a half finger of light brown head that dissipates quickly, little to no lacing. Smell is faint but cocoa and smokiness are noticeable. Tastes of chocolate, smoke and coffee. Pretty well balanced. Mouthfeel is smooth but a little thin. Not the best stout I've ever had, but overall a nice one.

L. Black with a huge tan head which fades in a few minutes.
S. Chocolate malt, toasted malt, smokey, vanilla, coconut.
T. Moderately sweet vanilla, dark to bitter chocolate, oak-y bitterness, then bready to caramely sweetness, cocoa and a smokey burnt marshmallow toward the finish.
F. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth.
O. Not too sweet but it is flavorful, and it's not over done but a unique stout it is though. I would recommend this one.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter glass. Effectively no head produced, very strange. Dark brown color, fairly close to coffee appearance. Smell is faintly of oak and malt, not much though. Taste is similar to the smell, with a pretty light body and light-medium carbonation. Drinkable, especially as it warms, but pretty "meh".

Coming on the heels of Founders Porter, this one suffered a bit in comparison. 5.5% ABV, 45 IBU, picture of girl in barrel on label. Head surprisingly thin, taste pedestrian overall, didn’t get much sense of the vanilla bean, some roasted malt and smokiness, just average.
