12 FL. OZ. can
Served in a sour glass

This beer pours a hazy, light hue of amber with golden highlights. It is topped with two inches of beige head that leaves no lacing.

The smell is tart apricot.

The taste is apricot and tart. The finish is dry.

Medium, dry mouthfeel

This is a decent beer. It is refreshing after a long trip home from the Great White North.

Pour is hazy light Amber. Foamy, short, wet white head that Fades slowly.

Smells tart, lemon, citrus peel, light grapefruit and grassy hints.

Taste lemon, citrus peel, tart, grapefruit, light bready malt and green apple. Finish is dry with a citrus peel and light tart fruit linger. Lighter body and fizzy medium carbonation.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness and mild herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish, Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent dry hopped Berliner weisse. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly acidic/drying finish. Flavorful and not watery feeling for the ABV, never overly lactic. Mosaic and Triskel hops. Great balance of Lacto and citrus/tropical hop complexity; with a nice solid pale/wheat malt backbone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

I've been told by my beer vendor that Urban Artifact has become pretty popular among his customers. He usually doesn't get much of their stuff (a single case) but we all share (I buy singles, but sometimes go back for more). This one is not as extraordinary as some of them but it is really good.

This pours a dirty yellow with some initial head that doesn't last too long. The aroma is a mild, clean yeasty smell. The taste is right where the style should be - not too tart, but tart none the less. It gives a nice burp (I feel like gulping just to get more).

Recommended as a good example of the style.

12 ounce can, no dating on it that I could find. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a hazy orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. Aroma is nice but subtle, the brew smells like citrus, orange, apricots, and grainy malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some orange Tang, lime and wheat flavors noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth, coating and easy to drink with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good overall brew, but one that would be better on a hot summer day. But with that being said, I liked it and it's certainly worth a try.

Berlin-style pale ale brewed with Mosaic and Triskel hops. Poured from a can into an Urban Artifact Thoroughbred glass. The beer is hazy orange with a light sliver of white head and average retention. Lots of lactic sourness on the nose. I get vinegar and apple skins.

The beer has a medium-light body with a firm feel and an interesting flavor that combines hops and tartness. Sharp acidity up front with a little fruit (apples primarily), then the sourness intensifies and are joined by citrusy hops. As the hops die back, the sourness comes forward again for a crisp, mouth-drying finish.

Very drinkable and interesting beer. Not super-sour like some Berliner Weiss beers. Also, I like the way the hops complement the sourness and add an extra dimension to the beer. After nearly 900 reviews, it's nice when you come across something new that you don't feel like you've tasted before. Definitely worth a try.

Pours amber in color with a very subtle haze. Aroma of pomelo, lemon, and floral hops. More pomelo and grapefruit, as well as peach, appear in it's flavor. Bready/crackery towards the finish, although it ends clean and free of any aftertaste. Overall, it's sour notes are mild. Tastes like a good mid-summer beer to me.
