Canned 2/23/17; drank 2/25/17 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy yellow/orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE white head; strong, frothy lace.
Banana, lemon, mild sugar & faint clove notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel & faint lemon flavors up front; dry clove & faint fresh earth notes on the finish.
A Belgian lager flavor?! I don't know what they've made here, but I know I don't like it...

Pours a hazy orange with a nice fluffy head. It has a nice tropical smell though it is not very strong. The taste was passionfruit and pineapple but again it was more muted than anything. There was some bitterness in there too. Overall it was okay.

I love hop butcher but this one was just ok. There is plenty of tropical and citrus hops but they feel stuck behind a curtain of biscuit. Very light and drinkable, but doesn't really pack a big punch. Well constructed, but not too exciting.

this is just my second beer from these guys and my first hoppy one, they seem to be doing a great job, and i would love to try a whole bunch more of their stuff. i dont know why the name made me hope this was a smoked ipa, but it isnt, its another juicy dry hoppy only partially refined ipa, delicious and fresh and in this instance with a pretty distinctive hop profile not just a citra mosaic thing everyone seems to be doing these days. not sure what all is in here, some southern hemisphere something for sure, green and white tea, pineapple, white life saver, lemongrass, and sauternes. its a little sweet when i taste it, but not from grain, which seems relatively conventional here, its like sweet from the oily hops, almost candied for a second, pretty darn fresh and compelling, maybe some lupulin powder or cryo hops or something, it has that kind of forward concentrated thing without being too intense. some bitterness at the end, but more juicy and dry hoppy than anything else, fuller bodied for what it is, off dry at the end, bubbly and rich feeling, complex and unique on the hop varietals and just a really good beer overall!

Canned on 5-1-18
Drank on 5-6-18
Pretty fresh beer, the bigger question, how much age makes this style drink best
I am not that familiar and won't save any for a month review.
Pours a hazy orange with a rapid disappearing head. Some lacing
Nice fruity notes to the nose.nice bitterness and passion fruit.
A bit watery and easy to put back.
Easy drinker, not my style of ipa, but good enough.
