Canned 6/28/19, drank on 9/17/19. Pours a deep, golden color with a fluffy white head, leaving behind nice lacing on the way down. Nose is more sweet than hoppy, like candied citrus. Taste is some earthy bitterness with a bit of an unpleasant bittersweet finish. That finish lingers and sticks to the palate and becomes almost medicinal.

This was sent to me by a friend. I am assuming it was stored cold but perhaps it wasn’t and that contributed to the deterioration of the beer. Based on the reviews here I would be willing to give it another try if I can find it fresh.

7/1/19 (Chicago): $14.99 plus tax four pack bought at Binny's Niles. Canned 6/28/19, poured into pint glass. Creamy tanish orange pour, light soapy white head leaves generous lacing. Mild orange, tangerine and grassy aroma, balanced, nice. Very string bitter hops taste balanced against strong sweet orange, mango, and other fruity taste. Somewhat sweet and tangy, very nice offering! Fizzy carbonation holds throughout, rich thicker mouth feel / presence for an IPA, somewhat sweet and tangy, then bitterness lingers. Overall excellent offering!

Appearance - From the can, the beer poured an orange yellow color with a thick white head.

Smell - The nose is sweetly dank with a bouquet of fruit.

Taste - For the style this has a perfect measure of sweetness. Mango candy come to mind before it was interrupted by a streak of dankness. It was overall freshing profile that leaves me wanting more.

Mouthfeel - There was viscosity amid the blizzard of hops.

Overall - This is among the best IPAs I have had in along time.

The look was orange and cloudy. The smell was a variety of tropical fruits, oranges, mango, lime, even a little coconut. The taste was super tropical at first then a little earthy with a slight bitterness that helped balance out the tropical fruits. The mouthfeel was rich and creamy and lingered. This was another great effort by Hop Butcher.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on March 9, 2019. Mosaic and Sabro hopped double India Pale Ale. Tons of juicy tropical fruit flavors. Recommended.

Canned 3/5/19; drank 3/10/19 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dull yellow/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; a thick curtain of frothy lace.

Lemon, orange citrus & dry grass notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Lemon candy & cream flavors up front; biting dry grass notes on the finish.

This is a bit too sweet AND a bit too dry...it skirts NE IPA excellence but misses the mark. Not terrible, though.

Gorgeous NEIPA as Hop Butcher's non milkshake IPAs always are. Just a little bit of lacing lingers after the pour. Smell is full of citrusy tropical pineapple and the taste reflects that as well. The alcohol is very well hidden as it tastes like it's only around 5-6% abv instead of the 7.5%. The mouthfeel if super thick and soft. It has just a hint of bitterness. I don't know sabro hops, but I'll look out for other beers that use them now. Definitely another winner from Hop Butcher, so don't miss it!
