L: A warm and milky pineapple glow with a finger of yellow-tinged froth, having decent retention and leaving a sticky mountain range of lace in it's wake.

S: Lemon pith and some serious herbal notes are complimented by citrus, spirits, and evergreens.

T: Follows the nose but with some more tropical flavors in the mix - I mostly picked up on mango.

F: Juicy and between sweet and off-dry, a strong bitter finish.

O: Had two of these and they did not dissapoint. I didn't think Vic Secret was my thing, but in the end I personally would even put this above Double Grid which I thoroughly enjoyed!

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 11/02/20. Bought it on Tavour.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a big fluffy head and medium carbonation. Smell is super tropical, mango and papaya and pineapple.

Taste is also super juicy, tropical, with a resinous backbone that barely supports all the sweet fruitiness.

Mouthfeel is smooth and fluffy. Overall, very nice beer.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that hardly died down and left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberries and grapefruit hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of honeydew melon and lime along with hints of grapefruit and pine towards the finish. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this IPA has a very interesting contrast of flavors from the hops, particularly those between the melon and pine.

11/2 canning date. Light tan orange, dirty, mild head and lacing. Smell is citrusy, dank, bready. Taste is juicy, orange, mango, papaya, lemon peel notes. Grassy, dank, slightly bitter aftertaste. Mouth watering, medium body, good booze presence. Tasty juice bomb.

Very fresh tasting. Brewed 3Nov, this rating 6Nov. 16oz can pour to heavily frosted pub glass. Hazy, opaque hue of milky orange. Sweet nose, foamy head, spotty lacing. Three hop varieties used to create a suberb balance of hop, Citra, fruit. Smooth on palate, finish crisp clean. Another huge double NE-IPA winner from Hop Butcher. WOW!

Thanks to C. for this 16 oz. can from another fantasy baseball box. My second Hop Butcher.

The pour could teach orange juice a thing or two. The nose is muted orange creamsicle.

Duchess the Elephant. A lovely mingling of orange juice, papaya, melon, with a finish of just enough bitterness to keep it from turning into a fruit salad. Dry. The combo makes it easy to sip.

Not much to say about this beer – it’s a solid shotgun marriage of old & new styles. Very good brew.

All the Hop Butcher DIPAs smell, look, and have a perfect mouth feel. This hits all their high marks for taste as well. Worth looking out for even if not their very best.

Straw yellow in color with an exceptionally hazy complexion that almost seems to glow. There’s an inch of creamy tan on top. Heavy lacing. The aroma is of earthy to green vegetables. I’m tasting earthy to green vegetable like hops. The mouth is smooth and refreshing.

Super hazy yellow body with a white cap that settles into a collar with surface and glass lacing. Tons of pineapple, with juicy lemon, clementine, passion fruit, grapefruit, and playful grassy hops. Super fruity tasting, take all of the aroma fruits, add guava, lychee, melon, banana, and papaya. Hops are on the finish, still light grass, but linger longer than they do in the nose. Feel is cool, super juicy, somewhat dank and heavy. Really expressive fruity neipa, greeness of hops is the only thing holding it back

Butchering up some Vic Secret, Cashmere and Centennial hops, these Hop Butchers pull together a strong New England styled IPA to at least woo all Illinois hop heads, if those those of the world

Pastelle golden and held in a matte finish, Duchesse the Elephant captures the nose with a citrusy, tropical, tangy medley that has the senses thinking lemon meringue ahead of the first sip. Underneath the creamy blanket of ivory foam lives a pastry sweet taste of angel food cake, agave and lighter notions of honey early and often on the palate.

As the cereal malts stretch across the middle palate, they balance against the billowing flavors of tangy tangerine, pineapple, lemon and passionfruit that stews in a fruit punch sort of way. Trending softly bitter and carrying a pleasant resiny spice, the finish is of gin, green tea and fresh cedar.

Medium bodied but fuller for IPA, the grain-rich textures of the hazy IPA are dried beautifully by the spicy hop resins, the alcohol and the careful attention to attenuation that these world class brewers can provide. A medium long linger of citrus and tropical fruit peels linger along with a certain botanical greenness for charm and curiosity.

The look of the is beer was like orange juice in the glass. The aroma was very tropical, pineapple, passionfruit, and a hint of pine. The taste was sweet up front but did have a little zest to it. There was also a pleasant pine taste that lingered. Very nice creamy mouthfeel. Another very good beer by Hop Butcher.

16oz can, "PKG 10/14/19 PINK HAIR DON'T CARE". Thanks to Derek for giving me a can to try! Hazy & opaque pineapple-orange juice colored ale with a foamy ivory colored head. Big juicy aroma as expected from Hop Butcher: fresh green hops, tropical fruit, citrus, and pine all fill the nose. Excellent mix of hoppy flavor notes of grapefruit, guava, pineapple, clementine, stone fruit, melon, and green hops. Full, creamy yet resinous body, moderate carbonation and bitterness. One of my favorites from this brewery! This was very good!

Canned 10/14/19; drank 10/20/19 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; a thick curtain of frothy lace.

Pineapple, cream & mild dry grass notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Pineapple & mild cream flavors up front; faint dry grass notes on the finish.

Fruity and sweet but not over the top; this somehow maintains some semblance of balance. I enjoyed it!
