DIPADIPA
Notes: The Double IPA is a style we've become synonymous with, and this bold, juicy DIPA showcases our favourite hops, yeast and brewing processes. Whilst its roots stretch back to a full team West Coast beer tasting in September 2015, and our scene-changing V series, it is significantly different to the IIPAs that originally inspired us and acts as an ever-evolving representation of a hazy, heavily-hopped and deceptively drinkable strong IPA.

A 440ml can, canned on 10th March 2020, and a freshest flavour before date of 29th May 2020. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: A hazy orange colour with a two finger white head that had decent retention and left some sparse spotty lacing.

Aroma: Lots of fruit, mango, papaya, orange, orange rind, and peach ice cream.

Taste: Light sweetness, mango, papaya, lightly bitter, citrus rind and pithy, peppery spice finish.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate to light carbonation.

Overall: Good balance of sweet and bitter, and nice juicy fruitiness makes this enjoyable to drink.

Pours a hazy orange with fine, soft, fluffy head.

Smell is juicy and tropical with notes of mango, oranges, tangerine, nectarine and a hint of sweetness.

Taste is massive and juicy. A little bit of sweetness leads in to huge tropical notes of mango, oranges, nectarines and melon. Moderate bitterness with perfect hop burn and a long, lingering finish. Superb.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy, and well carbonated.

Overall, a world class DIPA, phenomenal stuff.

Pours a hazy, deep golden coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/citrus fruit notes of mango, pineapple and orange, as well as lighter notes of white grape and peppery spice. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and juicy tropical/citrus fruit notes of mango, pineapple and orange, as well as a slightly acidic white grape note, some grassy/herbal accents and peppery spice, which itensifies in the aftertaste. Finishes with a medium bitterness and hop bite, with some tropical notes and peppery spice lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium bodyand carbonation.

Another great one by Cloudwater, the balance of sweet, bitter and slightly acidic notes standing out here, as well as a great, peppery hop bite in the aftertaste.

Well that's what I'm expecting when I'm having a €10 Cloudwater can.
The balance is amazing. It's juicy, bold and well sustained. I'd say there is a lot of simcoe, some citra and some amarillo in this brew but I could be wrong. The mouthfeel is great.
Please more!

330ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast

Poured a light clear golden copper colour with a slight haze. White head with coppery hints poured big thick and foamy with a meringue like topping then faded slowly to good covering with thick edging... barely any carbonation bubbles... lots of sticky lacing...

Aroma - Lots of juicy mouth watering (slightly tropical ?) fruitiness (pears, grapefruit, oranges, mangoes), light sweet caramel malts, some bready notes, honey, citrus and grassy hops, light pine, quite floral, talcum powder traces, faint rubbery note...

Taste is pretty similar to the aroma... lots of slighty tropical and sour fruits (grapefruit, bitter orange, limes), nice peppery and citrus hop bitterness balanced by light malty sweetness, chalky traces, light metallic notes, quite biscuity...

M&D - Smooth initially with a little sharpness underneath... medium bodied... this is dangerously drinkable at 9% as there is no trace of the alcohol at all

Overall - An outstanding beer and possibly the best British DIPA i've had. Highly recommended...
