i believe they now have several editions of this one. we enjoyed the peach and nectarine one, aged in laws rye and bourbon barrels. i think its awesome that some of these high quality local distillers are getting their barrels out there, it really has improved the local beer scene a lot, this is awesome whiskey, and it shows through in this beer from a quality standpoint. peach and nectarine kind of blend together a little bit for me here, like i cant so much tell one from the other in nose or taste of this, but to me its more peach. with the rich whiskey, it almost tastes baked, cooked, sweetened and caramelized, which is an interesting autumnal homey sort of warm feeling to pair with a sour beer, but it works incredibly well. this is a bit less acidic than some of the others ive had from these guys, but it also has fantastic complexity, barnyard funk, dry hay and grass, hard italian aged cheese, and musty basement, really pretty dynamic and attractive, even if that doesnt sound so good when i write it out. a definite white wine flavor here too, some nice sweetness from the peaches, and finally a lemony pucker with the wood to finish it off. the whiskey does creep back in late, more rye than bourbon to me, well aged and smooth, spicy, and complex. this is excellent beer, sure to age well. black project has really come along way since they first went full time with this concept. these beers are really good right now!

edit: this has continued to evolve really well, even a few more months in the bottle has yielded a brighter and drier brew, with the whiskey layers seemingly more well integrated, and the funk a bit more established. i imagine these are only just getting started too!
