This was another beer from Brix City that I traded for and finally got around to as I continue my attempt to clean my stash out. Nothing written on the bottom of the can, I have no idea when it's from but it held up well over time. Most attributes of this beer were typical but in the end, this was an enjoyable New England IPA that checked off all the right boxes...

The pour to this was a muddled, muted apricot and very cloudy although there sediment at the bottom of the liquid was fine and not that voluminous. Lots of lactose sweetness, citrus, and passion fruit in the nose as the taste was just as soft and easygoing. Some tropical fruit and sherbet emerged on the palate as this fully warmed up with plenty of accompanying oats to physically and proverbially chew on. Balanced and enjoyable, this felt more like a Pale Ale because of the recessed alcoholic presence and lack of a true hop bite.

Not a lot of carbonation here as the aftertaste was quite sticky - in terms of the oat body and nectarine sweetness that lingered. No, this wasn't fresh but I couldn't imagine a new can of this being much different than what I experienced. This was worth a go once as something to relax with but I would have enjoyed just a bit more bitterness throughout!

L-not quite amber but darker than many NEIPA's......hazy, cloudy......head settles a bit fast

S-Aroma is strong and filled with tropical hops........passionfruit, lime, mango, pineapple

T-Similar to the nose......passionfruit, citrus rind, pineapple.......finish is slightly bitter with lemon rind

F-less than medium, tingly carb

O-good but not outstanding

On draught at the brewery. A murky, orange-brown color with a large, fluffy, bright white head and lots of creamy, attractive lacing. Its fruity nose features lemon, pineapple, melon, oats, and cream. The taste opens with sweet, creamy oats, along with pineapple, cantaloupe, and red berries but the sweetness is quickly overcome by a bitter dose of Mosaic, Citra, and Galaxy hops. The flavor is so well-balanced; it's really delicious. The mouth feel is superb: it's creamy - almost chewy - with a pleasant level of carbonation, and if you didn't know the ABV is 8.5%, you would guess it's lower. This is a very easy-drinking, flavorful DIPA with a killer mouth feel.

Appearance: Arrives hazy with a goldenstraw color; the one finger head leaves webby lacing

Smell: Pineapple, berry, mango and passionfruit

Taste: Pineapple, mango and berry forward with the passionfruit building; the bitterness level is moderate with a juicy finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; somewhat creamy with moderate carbonation

Overall: Pretty darn impressive NE IPA

Solid beer but a little on the sweet side for me. Smooth n drinkable. Not boozy at all for a 8.5% brew. I wanted to love this beer n while I did like it I didn't love it.

T: Thick pineapple hit, chewy hops and malt, very clean and smooth.
M: Beyond smooth, zero ABV to this imperial, loads of flavor.
O: Loved it, hops mix works great, no bite, just a fantastic beer.

L - tubular can art bro. In classic Brix City fashion, it pours a borderline gross, turbid, yeasty mess. Fortunately I can dig it.

S - big Galaxy pineapple with notes of berry and and tangerine. Maybe some apple in there too. Oats.

T - surprisingly muted juice flavor given the aroma. Focus is on the dry hopping with loads of herbal, bitter, and tropical grassiness. Some mango peeks through accompanied by doughy mosaic and citrusy orange. Biting, aggressive hops; I feel this one in the back of my throat. Pineapple smoothie. Bitter and herbaceous on the finish.

F - thick and velvety. Tingly carbonation. Electricity on the tongue.

O - this is certainly heady, haha. Chock full of hops with a restrained balance between juice and bitterness.

Pours light yellow but super turbid, looks like a liquid yellow cotton ball. Smell is predominated by tropical fruit with passion fruit predominating. A little bit of over ripe mango and some guava even. Taste follows right along with the smell. A little bit of sweetness in the middle and almost no bitterness to speak on the back end. It is there, but just enough to cut the sweetness; and it is not a malt sweetness either. Very unique taste as a matter of fact. Super smooth. It feels pillowy, like most IPA's of this style, but also leaves a slight stickiness from the hop resins. Overall I was rather impressed by this beer. The lack of bitterness with a nonetheless superbly strong hop profile makes for an amazing experience. The passion fruit and over ripe mango are not my favorite notes which is why I don't this it is perfect but damn if that fruit explosion without the lack of bite aint something truly special!

Tall can, w/o freshness/canning date info

Great look to this NE IPA, clouded, with nice looking fine lacing left behind

Fragrant fruited up nose

Tropical and tasty, pineapple all over this one...well worth a try

Traded for this, because I love most new Brix IPAs and I expect this to be no exception.

Pours into a teku, pineapple juice cloudy, and a fluffy white head to match.

Nose starts out purely like passion fruit and other tropics. Smells like a heady hop salad...

An amalgam of hops, with all of them competing for flavor but they seem to compete too vigorously. The malt here feels a little jacked up too so as to keep up with the hop volume. Strong yet soft citrus, pineapple, slight vegetal notes, and passionfruit are what I get for the most part.

This is also one of the smoothest drinking IPAs I've ever had, even in spite of how much it is evidently hopped. No burn, just fresh and clean, smooth haze all around.

This is a very, very good attempt at a NE IPA. I am let down by how little distinction I find in the hop character here (with CItra, Galaxy, and Mosaic, I feel like the hop flavor would be incredible) but everything else is stunningly good, with the feel of this beer being among the best I've ever had. Seriously, for a TDH beer this is not harsh or biting at all. Again Brix is leaving me stoked for future offerings and with a smile on my face in the present.
