Poured from 12-ounce bottle into lager flute. Attractive light golden color, with a two-finger fluffy white head that actually stuck around for a while and left quite a bit of pretty lacing. Aromas and flavors typical for the style, only with a little more depth and with a little more body. Although palatable when cold, a whole lot of unpleasant sweetness dominates on the palate as it warms. Above average.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: a 2" white head falls rapidly, color is light gold and slightly hazy. Abundant streaming carbonation.
Aroma: standard light barley and mild hop aroma.
Mouthfeel: light and frothy with a mostly dry finish.
Flavor: sweet grain and barley malt, some grassy hops and a slight metallic flavor.
Overall: a decent, adjunct style lager.

4.5% ABV per the label.

Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of grain, corn flake, and sugar aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and sweetened corn flake flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer that is pretty much just grain and sugar qualities all around.

Serving type: bottle.

Breakfast beer.

Or so I've heard it called in New Orleans, one of the premier food cities in the Country. Contract brewed now it's not very different from the original which may have been developed as a food beer from the beginning. As a Native Southerner that sounds right to me. The beer is a lightly colored, standard AAL that is a little more flavored than one would expect of it's ilk. Historically not the best brew in the city, (anybody remember Jax?) but decent enough to wash down some shellfish at the Acme Oyster House. I think it's appeal now is mainly nostalgic.

Worth trying but not really worth seeking out.

Appearance - typical adjunct color. Smell - grains and grassy. Taste - very smooth and I actually think adequately flavorful. Overall - very good.
