This was another beer that I traded for ages ago, but unsure as to when since there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can. It still read Sole Artisan, which was a dead giveaway that this wasn't new. Regardless, I found this beer to be enjoyable, strong, and a somewhat complex once it fully warmed up...
The pour to this was alright as the beer was a dark apricot with only a hint of light seeping in around the edges. Enough head topped this off as it settled nicely but to my surprise, there was very little lacing left behind once I started to work my way through this. Lots of candied sugar, booze, stone and tropical fruit, and kiwi in the nose as the taste had all of those on a subtle level. Enough bread emerged in the taste as this felt quite sappy and thick since the carbonation was a bit lacking as some lime pith and heavy, heavy fruit sweetness emerged during my time with this. Hard to taste the lemon zest but I loved the fact that the hops in this weren't common but could still be enjoyed!
I have no idea how a beer has 9.000!% ABV in it but rest assured, every drop of that could be felt here as this warmed me up quite nicely well before I polished it off. Not a New England IPA by any means, this was an Imperial IPA that looked, tasted, and felt like one. It held up well over time and was a slight change from what I was accustomed to, to my enjoyment!

Apologies, backlog review from late July. A 1 pint can, canned on 15th May 2017 and poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A cloudy dark orange colour with a two finger white head that had good retention and left some sparse lacing.
Aroma: Strong whiff of pineapple followed by citrusy orange, mandarin, melon and pine.
Taste: Sweet and bitter. Biscuit malt sweetness mixed with tropical apricot, pineapple and bitter citrus rind plus pith. Finish is a lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Not as juicy as a lot of other NE DIPA’s that I’ve tried, but it’s still quite nice.

Whoever says this is a NEIPA is either delusional or confused. This beer is not hazy, juicy, balanced or drinkable. This is a malty boozy bomb that reminds me of DIPA's made 10 years ago. Another overrated, unimpressive jawn from Sole.

Tap
Pours very cloudy orange, yellowish head retains well at a quarter inch.
Smells very fruity and floral. Lots of citrus juice and sourdough bread with rich fresh pine tree in the finish.
Tastes follows, lots of citrus juice. Orange and grapefruit. Bready malts. Citrus rind, herbs and pine finish.
Full body, stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth. Boozey warmth.
Crazy juicy, a DIPA NE style. Loads of flavor. Personally adore this but I could see it being divisive among purists.

32oz crowler into a pint glass. from on tap at Sabatinis in Exeter last Friday.
deep orange body with a generous white head. decent lacing.
clean aroma, slightly fruity and hoppy aroma.
oohh, this is one tasty beer. hops, fruit, dank, faintly spicy, even a little earthy. a lot going on here. faintly sweet. no overwhelming flavor, but a very balanced taste.
mouth is between medium and full, finish is a beautiful mix of the above mentioned flavors.
overall, this varied beer hits this particular palate extremely well. wish i had another crowler in reserve.

DATE; June 28, 2017... OCCASION: the last day of school 2017 for me--a lot of good beers made this moment possible... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... pours a dense dark amber, almost burnt sienna that allows for no chance at spying effervescence... the head is a reasonable single finger of off-white that rings out nicely to a cluster of small bubbles... first scent erupts in pineapple and resin, with passion fruit strongly contending for attention... bubble gum, lemon, some heavier alcohol notes as well... a lively sipper, with heat at the finish and crunch throughout the palate--delivers its 9% with a confident, welcoming palate... looking for holes in this one and not finding any... the pineapple is lively and full; the balance is impressive, with enough dough malts to blunt the accompanying resin... the Denali chucks a pineapple at you while adding some pepper in for good measure... dank hops and mint seep from the Eureka... the lemon is not as zesty as advertised, but the competing flavors make for a profile worth sipping slowly and fully... this concludes my "summer" assignment as put forth by lunch duty partner, friend and fellow beer appreciator... my favorite of the four and a beer I will seek out when I have home field advantage--too powerful to take on the road!
