Ballast Point Miramar is the place to go for date night. Wonderful layout and lighting make this place very inviting. I opted for dinner and beer pairing option, 3 different beers paired with the three courses. I must say the food was above average tasty and great portions. The beers that were paired with them however were not to my liking at all. I would have loved some classic sculpin or calico but was given some experimental beers that I felt did not only clash with the food but also were just plain nasty. My recommendation for people who go is to definitely be open to trying some of their new experimental beers but get at least one classic in case you don't like the others. Overall a fine experience and would go back.

Went for dinner and beers on a Monday night. Was still pretty full, but was able to park (apparently this is a major issue) and get seated without delay. Food was good, and a lot cheaper than at Stone. The place itself is pretty new, and had a very cool and relaxed feel. I was pleasantly surprised by the large beer selection. In addition to what you would expect (the regular beers) there were a dozen or so experimental beers, 6 or 7 Victory at Sea variants, and some other options I didn't expect. Probably 40 or so Ballast Point beers.

My wife and I stopped in early afternoon on a Thursday in September and it was not very busy. Ordered at the bar (tried the Commodore Stout (with Cinnamon & Raisin) after talking to a very knowledgeable and friendly BT. Moved to a comfortable sofa seating area, sat back and enjoyed the experience very much.

This place is easy to find especially with the large Ballast Point labelled tanks outside the facility. Its in an industrial park, and when we pulled into the parking lot I noticed several people hanging outside - which meant there was a wait for tables. Walking in the place was loud and crowded and fortunately a few folks were leaving the bar so we grabbed the seats. There is an electronic beer list above the bar, and it had no less than 40 Ballast Point beers, some of them were labelled R&D. Prices were reasonable from $5-7 a pint, and the tasters were $2 each.

The few beers we had were all super fresh and tasty. Service was decent despite the large crowds. The vibe was wonderful as the crowd was happy. There is a gift shop here too. If visiting San Diego, this is a must stop.

Not sure if you can tell, but I absolutely loved this place! Mitchell gave us a tour that was incredible. The beers were great and I don't think I've had crispier fries ever! We were there during a Chargers game and it was quite full. The hamburger was spot on and service was attentive.

I was not particularly looking forward to a visit to Ballast Point nor was it on my radar as a "must do." I was wrong! This is as beautiful a place as you can get for a brewery and well worth a trip.

Location/facilities are first class.

The service is absolutely beyond reproach.

Beer selection is fantastic with some Ballast Point offerings that are crazy creative and wonderful to taste.

Food is really good.

All in all, a great beer experience with some really good beer people.

Located in an industrial park, lots of parking available.

Beer - Great selection, lots of brewery only variations

Food - Excellent, got a pizza, gastro pub quality

Service - The two waitstaff knew all about the beers and what was new, etc.

Atmosphere - The first thing I noticed were the two copper boil kettles that they had shipped over from Germany.

I would go back and recommend to friends.

Absolute jem of a spot. Sure, it's a bit glitzy, but, at the end of the day, the beer/food/selection/service are all top notch. Tons of R&D brews. Tours available of the brew house. Only downer are somewhat expensive food.

I usually go to the Old Grove BP location, but thought I would check out Miramar after hearing good things. It turned out to be a very nice place. I went on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded and had a nice relaxed vibe as well as a pretty mixed crowd. They had a great selection of beers, but it was mostly their typically fare. I think that the Old Grove location has a better selection of R&D beers. Service was pretty good, nothing spectacular but no complaints. We had a few items to share and the food was great, although I feel that the portions were a bit small. Overall, a great place and definitely recommended!

First time visiting this new Ballast Point Brewing location. This is one of the better high-end breweries in San Diego, excellent design. Stone in Escondido is up there as well, and I hear the new AleSmith location will also be high quality. We were there on a weekday, and it was crowded. Awesome vibe. Quality joint. Service was good, as well as the selection of offerings. I didn't have anything to eat, but others in our party did. Mixed bag...
I would highly recommend this location to visitors.

On vacation, I took the family for dinner. Beautiful, well laid our facility in an industrial area of San Diego (Miramar). Loved the decor (beer keg fountain). There are options for tasting, dinning, and group tasting (sofa areas). Small shop on site with not a large selection of swag. Did walk out with a few glasses, bottle of Bloody Mary Mix, and bottles of beer.

The food is not your common pub food. Good, but not great. I was hoping for more variants, but there was a nice selection (tried a Ginger Sculpin, Indra Kunindra, and Habanero Sculpin).

The new Ballast Point space on Carroll Way is great. It's shiny and new and very well thought out. The staff was great except for one woman who was folding towels near us and complaining loudly about lockers available out back.

Beer selection was great - tried Sculpin from the source, a few R&D beers including "Peanut Butter Victory at Sea" which was great.

Food was outstanding - I had a burger and a buddy got the fried chicken - both tremendous.

Great stop!
