As someone who drinks a lot of IPAs (many of which are boring, derivative efforts) I loved this beer. Hops, balance and awesomely wonderful additions in juniper and sage. A: dark amber S: as advertised!! - Sierras all the way. T: a good IPA, but made great with the kicker, M: medium, O: I would seek this out in the flatlands... Although minus 8000 feet of elevation would it play as well??

At Tunnel Creek cafe in Tahoe and having a 395 with my hot pastrami sandwich. The beer poured a nice amber with white head and lace. The scent is floral in nature....i think I smell hibiscus but not sure if that is right. The taste also carries a floral base...again like hibiscus...and finishes dry. Just read the bottle its sage and juniper berries. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's quite nice.

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful color for a beer. Brilliantly clear copper red, and a nose full of sage and juniper. A little intense and rich, but a great IPA off the beaten path. Definitely one to share, and a uniquely delicious experience. Cheers!

Wow. Excellent!

This'd be a great everyday beer. Perfect balance of malt and bitterness. Just wow. Perfect.

As much as I've loved the megahops double IPAs of the last few years, it's sort of exhausting to drink them all the time. 395 scales back the hop presence just a bit, then fills the space with the sage and juniper. 8% abv in a 22oz. bottle makes for a really nice buzz, not a sledgehammer. I love this beer.

Intriguing reddish amber color with a fluffy off-white head that left a curtain of lacing.
Lots of sage and juniper on the nose and palate with malty floral citrus.
Well carbonated with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Slight bitter herbal finish.
I thought that I might not care for this too much because of the maltiness for the style, but the combination of aroma and flavor grew on me quickly. Not too bad.

Woah - the juniper and sage just come screaming out of the bottle. Huge nose, and the flavor profiles follows pretty close. Shared the bottle, because the weight was a bit much, but really accomplishes what it wants.

Drank this at the awe-inspiring, beer-centric Panamint Springs resort in Death Valley.

Malty, piney, highly aromatic aroma; touches of weed. Deep garnet color with thick lacing. I dig the juniper and sage, particularly here in Death Valley. Very drinkable too.

I get big spice notes on the nose. With the taste I get some rye flavors coming through, with a finish of some berry qualities. I get some pine in there, with very little tropical fruit flavors. This beer is not very hoppy, and this plays more into the malty side of an imperial IPA.

If you like malty imperial IPA's this is for you.. This was okay for me.
