I get big spice notes on the nose. With the taste I get some rye flavors coming through, with a finish of some berry qualities. I get some pine in there, with very little tropical fruit flavors. This beer is not very hoppy, and this plays more into the malty side of an imperial IPA.

If you like malty imperial IPA's this is for you.. This was okay for me.

Beautiful dark amber hue, head and lacing minimal. Scent is light but intriguing, piney with something sweet.
Nice pine IPA, the malt is not hidden and it's very balanced IPA-wise. The added juniper berries are very present. I don't feel I notice the sage, but that might be that it is alongside the pine flavor and hard to distinguish. Alcohol present on the aftertaste, but just enough to let you know it's there.

This was recommended by a coworker and I saw it the very same day, so I gave it a try. Very glad I did, very unique in a good way and I will be enjoying again and sometime soon I hope. The earthy juniper berries are a very nice play on the bitter pineness of the hops used.

Good IPA. Has juniper berries and sage added which makes it taste more piney but it is still good. Hoppy but not too hoppy. 8% ABV. Drinkable for sure. Definitely bring on your next trip to the high Sierras

This pours a deep copper color with a decent head and lingering lacing. The smell is understated, with earthy, herb infused traces. It has a rich creamy mouth feel. It does not have the heavy hop blast of most IPA's which will likely cause many to downgrade this, but I really loved the taste. It reminds me more of a full bodied ale than an IPA with it's even creamy blend. The sage and juniper berries are very apparent and give this a one of a kind flavor that is a pleasant find.

The flagship of the company as well as it should be. Very good IPA.

This pours much darker than I expected, like you might expect of a dense Amber. A dark copper, with a light khaki head (22oz into tulip). The bottle declares juniper berries and sage. The sage is evident right in the nose with some piney hops (I mean, Mammoth, has to be pine - am I under the influence of longing for my youth of 6 hour drives pre-dawn to ski until I couldn't stand?). The juniper berries add a tart, sharp point to the nose.

And so the flavor does deliver as the label declares with the sage evident and the juniper berries adding some pop to the heavy pine hops. Really nice blast of bitter. However, the malt balance is a little light. The mouthfeel was also a little light bodied for my expectations in a DIPA. This is a tasty tasty concept beer - a concept I like. Would prefer a bit more body.
