Notes: Fearless and bold, our Epic IPA earns its name vanquishing hops at a rate of no less than two pounds per barrel. And yet, this heroic outlaw still achieves a noble balance of clean bitterness, smooth malt, and citrusy hops, making it the perfect sidekick for your next wilderness tale.

Mmm: Not for the feeble-hearted, Epic IPA charges valiantly at your taste buds. Two pounds of Horizon, Citra, and Amarillo hops gave their lives for the greater good in each barrel of this gallantly balanced American IPA.

Pours an orange gold with a thin, frothy head. The nose has a surprisingly high amount of yeast notes for an ipa. There are strong piney, earthy hops. This is similar to torpedo from sierra nevada. The flavor is nice and boost up front with sappy and piney notes.

Chilled 12 oz. can into a shaker pint. No discernible canning date.

Look- This can has something I've only ever seen before on a questionable lager known as "Mountain Brew Beer Ice." Namely, a number of square pictograms depicting the various sporty activities one might engage in while enjoying a Mountain... I mean Epic IPA.

As for the beer itself, it pours a clear light amber with a sudsy eggshell cap. Decent retention, not much lace.

Smell- Nutty, earthy, musky, light resin. A bit powdery. Agitation brings out some lemon.

Taste- Follows the nose. Very interesting nutty, almost mealy flavor dominates. Buttery? not quite, it's more of a nutty, oily feel than diacetyl usually produces. I'd almost say it's haylike, but it's definitely a green, fresh cut light sun-roasted flavor, and not oxidization. Perhaps roasted sunflower seeds are a good description. Mild sweetness. Finishes with an oily, roasty, peanut butter flavor. Not quite sure what to make of it. Light, brisk hopping is present but certainly not dominant, something like dusky nugget. Lingering taste of baked milled oats and basil.

Mouthfeel- Medium body, carbonation comes out on the sip, fairly crisp. Dry finish, a bit oily.

Overall- Epic? Not sure. A very different take on an AIPA, I can't decide if it's revolutionary or weird. Whatever it is, it's not something I've encountered before. Certainly worth trying.

Tasted out of a bottle, this was a very decent IPA. The pour gave the beer a very dense, bubbly head. On initial smell, there is a robust amount of hops aroma. First sip, and once again the prevelance of hops, very forward on the tongue. The beer itself is very smooth and bitter with the hops flavor. It has a lingering aftertaste to go along with the heavy flavor. It is a tasty beer, but it would be hard to drink anything afterwards with the amount of hops on your palate. I would absolutely drink this beer again.

Appearance - orangish amber

Smell - bready, herbal, dank hops

Taste - Very herbal/earthy hops, carmel bready malts - definitely not a West Coast, more like East Coast IPA in my opinion. Spicy finish bitter finish

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied - a little too much carbonation for my tastes

Overall - solid IPA, nice bitterness and malt - not a "fruity" IPA at all so it is very unique tasting. I like more fruity/citrus IPAs so I can appreciate this but I probably won't buy it again. That being said it is definitely worth a try.

When I go camping in Yosemite Valley and hit up the Curry Village bar, this is my go to beer. Over Memorial Day Weekend I enjoyed a 22 ounce glass of TM IPA, followed by a Double Nut Brown, and then back to the IPA for a pint.

The appearance is opaque and solidly deep amber-brown, and is probably too dark for an IPA. Moderate head, but very good lacing. The smell is floral, piney, citrusy hops, all go well with the yosemite valley setting. The hops are earthy and piney tasting, but the taste also has a toasty and nutty sweet caramel malt that is very appealing. Mouthfeel is creamy. Solid drinkability.

Great after coming off the trail.

Drinkable, but just barely. Way too hoppy, even for an IPA. Sour taste with undertones of urinal cake. Avoid.

Amber with a white head, smells of grapefruit and pine. Taste definitely lacks from the suggested aroma, and has a big caramelly backbone. Feels a little more full bodied than your typical IPA, but not unpleasant. This isn't a great IPA, but I tend to revisit it from time to time. Cheers!
