On tap at Mammoth Brewing
A: Pours slightly hazy rich brown with a tan head that settles to a thin ring and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Brown sugar, vanilla, smooth bourbon, a hint of dark fruit, a little bready malt, and a touch of alcohol as it warms.
T: Dark sugar, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, brown sugar, vanilla, toasted coconut, smooth bourbon, a hint of oak, faint dark fruit and chocolate, and a touch of bready malt.
M: Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, hides it's % well.
O: Wow! I wasn't expecting this. A damn fine beer indeed.

A: Moderate bourbon, coupled with rich malts, light fruity esters of dried fruits, plums, and slightly boozy.
A: Deep amber color, clear, with a thin white dense head.
T: Ample bourbon upfront, coupled with a moderately malty light caramel flavor. Lightly sweet with moderate esters, quite clean.
M: Full bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer is smooth with light warming, but not harsh.
O: Pretty solid; the base beer has a solid malty aroma and flavor. The bourbon barrels definitely amplify the flavors and give the beer a richer body and taste, almost to the point of overpowering the base beer.

from notes from my visit to the Brewery, served from the tap. Bartender noted that this is their "Fire and Eisbock" that was aged in bourbon barrels.
chestnut brown in color, little head. smell is great - oak and vanilla bourbon flavors along with rich malt. taste is more rich maltiness as expected - raisin, brown sugar. slightly boozy. body is a bit syrupy, but that is expected for the style. nice beer overall.
