16oz Can

Another huge thanks goes out to Sammyjaxxxx for a great box of beer, this included! Thanks, mang! Woah Equinox is a murky libation golden hours hue. There's np chance of seeing anything through the body, as a matter of fact it looks a little like pineapple juice. The head is easy to conjure and occupies the top two fingers of the glass. It's a little dirty white and puffy. While receding to a cap after a few minutes it leaves sticky, chunky, irregular lacing in its wake. A good looking beer, Woah Equinox is.

Damn, this beer reeks of hops! It's a veritable tropical fruit basket in this pint glass. Huge notes of papaya and mango, passionfruit and pineapple. Even a healthy dose of apricot makes itself known. There's a little of that lactic, overripe pineapple like I often get from Citra heavy beers in this Equinox heavy IPA. The malt base brings a touch of sweetness with some graham cracker deliciousness below a sugar cookie lead. This beer will make your mouth water.

There is a quick flash of orchard fruitiness up front but that's all I get of the farmhouse aspect. The hop profile again leads the way with domination on the mind. The tropical fruits are front to back, juicy and vibrant. An aspect I didn't pick up in the nose that's alive and well on the finish is a pine needle/herbal hoppiness that brings the bitter. There is also a touch of aspirin bitterness that I don't come across often but have always enjoyed. There is just enough sugar to keep the hop profile from running rampant and it's graham cracker-y with drizzle of caramel. A clean booziness cleans up the finish nicely.

The body is moderate in weight but a snappy carbonation makes it feel even lighter than that, impressive for a beer of this stature. The carbonation, while active and lively, never becomes prickly or aggressive. Bitterness grows with each successive drink until it surpasses moderate, the dry finish helps the cause. The drinkability for a beer of this weight is way up there. Goes down incredibly easy.

Woah Equinox is delicious! It's insanely juicy from front to back with a firm bitterness that lingers long after each drink. The flavor is even more complexly hoppy than the nose suggested. It's bitter, dry, and insanely drinkable. I can't get enough! Thanks again, Sammyjaxxxx!

Look: Got that turbid NE style IPA look. Not a huge fan, but it's the in thing.

Smell: Citrus is up in your face. The farmhouse element to this series gives the hops a chance to shine. Tropical fruits in the back.

Taste: Immediate grapefruity, lemon zest hoppiness. Little funk in the finish. Almost reminding you of their dry hopped brett beer Flashbacks. Just a touch bitter that makes you want to come back for more. Extremely quaff-able for a 8% double.

Feel: Perfect for the style.

Overall: Easily a top 5 double IPA from NJ for me. This series is up there with the O'dub variants for me. Keep em coming!

L: orange color, can't see through it. Massive white foam and tons of lacing
S: big citrus, bitterness, slight pine
T: the bitterness hits first, not very much citrus, slight pine.
F: dry from pine/sap bitterness lingering

On draft. Pours a hazy golden color with 2 finger head and nice lacing. Smells of citrus and tropical fruits. Tastes the same as the smell. More citrusy than tropical. Nice flavor and carbonation. Glad I got to try this I would drink it again!

Notes of canned pineapple. Pours cloudy yellow with a lot of lacing. Hop forward taste with a lingering bitterness aftertaste, not unpleasant. Features the Equinox hops.

Yes, 5 stars all around on this brew for me! A nice hazy cloudy pour with an extremely hoppy aroma. Super juicy taste and the right amount of bitterness. I love me a great DIPA this reminds of one of my favorites, Second Fiddle. Cheers to Eric and the team over at Magnify!

16 oz can poured into a nonic.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a finger of foam. Aroma is bursting with citrus, papaya, and other tropical fruit. Flavor is full of tropical fruit hoppiness with a bitter kick midway through. Finishes very smooth, the sharp bitterness drops right out of this on the back end. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Pours a fairly cloudy orange shaded Amber. Ecru head holds up well. Aroma is very grassy, slightly vegetal. Tropical fruits with notes of lime. Very interesting hop scent. Little malt flavor.

Flavor begins with a mild honey sweet flavor. Gives way to a full on hop assault. Firm bitterness. Lime and lemon citrus flavor. Vague tropical fruitiness. Media bodied. Rich flavor with some stronger malt flavor than expected from the nose. Some alcohol warmth.

Overall enjoyable, but the vegetal grassy flavor and aroma from the hops detract significantly. I've enjoyed several beers from this brewery, but find too much of the hop matter ended up in the final package.

Looks hazy yellow, close to pure pineapple juice.

Smells like pineapple, guava, and candied citrus.

Tastes the same as it smells: guava, pineapple, candied orange and lemon. Juicy. Much more so than Woah Nelly which is more restrained. This may be the juiciest IPA I've had out of NJ. Delicious tropical juice bomb.

Feel: Moderate carbonation, slightly thicker than most IPAs (think the consistency of pineapple juice, not quite OJ), but works well with the flavors.

Overall, one of my favorite beers, and contender for my favorite NJ beer. Definitely my favorite by Magnify and I look forward to the other Woah variations.
