During the summer vacation to my home country Germany we went to Altes Brauhaus in the historic district of Koblenz.
The original brewpub of the Königsbacher (now Koblenzer) brewery. Bustling with guests from all over, it still has the cozy feel of "Gemütlichkeit", as we Germans say.
Quality is top notch, backed by several restaurant awards.
We had the luck to be served by the owner Monika. Super nice and attentive, a real pleasure.
Selection of 10 beers, all traditional, from highly regarded breweries of the respective style, perfectly served in the appropriate glasses.
Food selection has many variants of the famous Schnitzel and home-style, hearty dishes but also a good selection on the lighter side. I strongly recommend to go with a hearty one, this restaurant is no place to skimp on your diet. I had the Backschinken (baked ham) with Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, absolutely delicious!
A gem in Koblenz, a must visit I would say. If you go on a weekend, it is probably a good idea to get a reservation, especially with a larger party.

I recently spent some time in Koblenz. I went back because no place in town was able to beat the food. The prices for food are awesome. The beer selection is ok. About 7 different beers, mostly from the Koenigsbacher Brewery (formerly Koblenzer Brauerei). I always had fun there. The regulars are fun and the staff super friendly. If you are in town, go! Btw, an awesome ice cream spot two doors down!
