A: Poured a light copper-orange color with a thin bubbly white head.

S: The nose was slight floral with a herbal hop tang. Lacked typical malt sweetness.

T: The flavor provided some light caramel backing with herbal hopping, overall very clean and light.

M: light, softly carbonated with only a slight creaminess on the swallow with some light hops for the finish.

D: moderate drinkability as it is really lackluster and unexciting with few characteristics that make the finer oktoberfest style beers so good (sweet Vienna malting, nice graininess, creamy smooth body).

12oz. bottle

Pours a clear, light copper color with a small white head that fades. Minor lacing on the glass.

Aroma is caramel malty and rather crisp. Mild herbal hop aroma compliments it rather well.

Caramel malty upfront leading into a nice herbal hop flavor and mild bitterness. Finishes rather clean and dry.

Light body, low carbonation.

Overall, a decent O'fest offering and easy going down. Worth a try if this seasonal is available to you.

Billed as "FestBier" at the Ram's Head Beach House in Rehoboth Beach.

Coppered amber with a minimal white head of small bubbles that vanishes to this spray. No carbonation streams and no lacing. The aroma is of sweet malt, a bit fruity and nutty at the same time as well as the faintest bit of floral hops. The taste is also sweet up front, caramelly and there is only the smallest bit of hop bit that struggles to cut through this. The finish is predominantly sweet, candied nut meats and just a scant amount of hops that lingers only briefly. Medium body with a heavy, thick feel, the carbonation is light and adds to the weight. I found this to be overly sweet and short in the hops department. I’ll pass on another round.

Had a 4ounce sample at Ram's Head Tavern in Savage MIll, MD. Nice amber color with a small head and very low in carbonation, a bit too low. Nose was very neutral, not offensive but too light on any Munich or Vienna malt. Flavor is a bit maltier than the nose, not really big and a slight yeastiness is present, similiar to major German Oktoberfests. Yeast is also present in the finish, m askiing some of the malt character. Not bad, just not what I was expecting from a craft brewed American Oktoberfest.
