Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a Belgian tulip glass
A: Pours a clear light copper hue with a 3-finger, white, frothy head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice trail down the side of the glass and ending in a huge lace.
S: Malty caramel aroma with a decent earthy hop background..
T: Tastes more like a imperial ipa than a regular ipa. Equal mix of sweet malt up front followed by bitter hops. Caramel malt background with that earthy hop flavor and finishes slightly dry.
M: Medium body and carbonation
O: Decent IPA – worthy of a try.

On tap at Rams Head Roadhouse. This beer is much more bitter and piney than Back Stage IPA with less citrus and less caramel to offset the bitterness. A pretty average West Coast IPA.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. Pours semicloudy orange with a small white head. Smells of some citrus and piney hops. Tastes of sweet grain with a nice citrus hop bite. Beer is nicely carbonated, light bodied, light bodied, and easy drinking. Overall, an above average beer.

Impressive, dome-making head which is very slow to recede. It leaves plenty of chunky and webby lace on the glass. The liquid darker gold with a minimal haze.
Harsh, freshly grounded hop come aroma. Very green and floral, it smells like freshly mowed dandelion weeds.
The hop mimics the smell with more fortitude. It's difficult to get a read on the malt (regular pale) because of the strong bitterness, which intensifies during the swallow leaving an extraordinary long-lasting bitterness in the aftertaste. Almost astringent and very dry. Overall, this a love-the-hops sorta IPA.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a bit of pine. Nothing mild about the taste. Aggressive hops, pine, resin, some citrus, bitter, a bit unbalanced. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
