The bottle says "This brew uses real lemon zest and ginger root. Bringing the boil to convey a slight citrus and spicy flavor."

Found this at Brewer's Haven today... I think it was about $6....

Pours a hazy orange with a surprisingly short lasting head for a wheat beer.... spotty lacing.

Nose shows light citrus with plenty of wheat aromas and a bigger ginger element.

Flavor: Wheat malt and ginger are the big players with some background lemon zest that compliments everything... Pretty tasty but will have to be something that I am craving to buy often.

IMO sorta a mess alone, but I bet most folks will like it.

This will do better with food... I think possibly some Satay or even Pho.

One note for the brewers: Citrus zest and ginger don't translate as well when ONLY done in the boil. A "dry hop/spice" does more translatable damage on the aroma/palate.. but that is easy to fuck-up to with infections.

Anyway... I am digging this one.

my first beer from these guys, and i really didnt care much for it. its overly ginger forward, sweet all the way through, and with so much added flavor that the base beer is pretty obscured. hard to even judge it as a hefe, even though i get some of the yeast, i dont taste much wheat here and its impossible to really tell much about it, other than that its kind of weirdly malty for the style. the lemon is sweet to me, and i am finding myself wishing it to be more natural state, more acidic, puckery, drying, refreshing, its none of those things in here. the ginger has a little peppy spice to it, makes it kind of earthy, but more like a ginger beer than an ale beer, sweet and dominant. they go well enough together, but i keep going back to soda in my mind more than beer. there is a banana note to the yeast which kind of saves it when its cold, but the added flavors are so pungent at temperature that its hard to finish even one, i couldnt imagine making an afternoon of these, which seems like what it wants to be, but i cant get there with it. medium bodied and with enough carbonation, its the residual sugar thats the problem, not the carbonation or the weight. not a real strong first impression here, at least in my opinion...

Interesting, but not interesting enough. Weak head for a weizen, pours hazy amber, mild spiciness of labeled ingredients are present in the aroma and taste, but not as strong as they should be. Noticeably dry finish. Decent for a spiced beer, poor for a weizen

Just picked up a growler of this at a local gas station. First review, here we go:

A- Hazy amber in the glass. Poured a moderate head but didn't last very long. Lacing was minimal

S- Definitely get hit with the initial citrus smell. Wheat smell is pretty strong with a mild ginger aroma

T- Wheat is the initial taste; felt that there was a little something to be desired. Not quite as wheaty as I care for in a hefe but definitely not bad. Followed up by ginger a decently strong ginger taste, not overpowering though. Lastly the lemon which is fairly mild and works well in this brew

M- Not quite as carbonated as I was expecting, but still decent mouth feel. Very smooth and pretty light as well. Could have been

O- Overall a decent brew which is very drinkable. Had heard pretty great things about it but was expecting a little more, but that's not to say it's bad.

On-tap. Semi-clear gold, white foamy head settles to a minimal cap. Bready, mineral, spice - light citrus, ample wheat character, lighter body, some bright lemon and orange rind, smooth finish. Decent.
